Hey! Here's my personal method for catching as many beetles as I possibly can as fast as possible + the prices.

1. Go to the island past 7pm.
2. Rent the axe and shovel, and chop down all trees except one oak (If you don't play past 11pm, cut all the oak trees down. I'll explain why you want them if you play past 11pm later.) and two palm trees on the sides of the island. It should look like this (o = tree, x = borders)
xxxxxxxxxx

o o o

xxxxxxxxxx

3. Put those tools away and rent the net.
4. Go back and forth catching beetles!
5. Remember to put them in the box before you leave.
6. Also, putting seashells in the middle of the island helps hermit crabs from spawning.

Prices:

Palm Tree:
12,000 Bells:
Golden Stag
Horned Hercules
8,000 Bells:
Horned Elephant
Cyclommatus Stag
Horned Atlas
6,000 Bells:
Goliath Beetle

Oak tree (Here's where the past 11pm part comes in! These come after that time):
Giant Stag: 10,000
Rainbow Stag: 10,000
Scarab Beetle: 6,000

Good guide. I'd just make a couple of recommendations. I don't think having the regular tree is worth it since it usually spawns worthless beetles and moths and even the good beetles aren't worth as much as the palm beetles. Also, you can stockpile seashells in the center of the island and then cover the entire shore with them to stop hermit crab spawns. That way, all you have to do is scare tiger beetles and wharf roaches away with the net and everything else is valuable beetles.

That's what many people think, but since I play mostly past 11pm, it's good for the rare 10k beetles on those trees as I said before.

Also good idea!

<: Thanks for posting the guide, I didn't know that you had to go to the island after 7 PM for better chances of beetle catching~

Nice, didn't know about those bugs after 11pm :) I need a couple for my encyclopedia!
