Avatar: The legend of Korra

Varrick and Zhu Li's relationship didn't feel forced at all. It was pretty obvious with lots of hints and conversations, and their relationship was constantly evolving, as was Zhu Li's role in the show.

You can't label people homophobic over something like that, it's extremely rude and ignorant.

I agree about Sokka
I always wondered what happened to him :/

I also wondered what became of Azula, May, and Ti Lee?

This.
I already knew they were going to be a thing from day 1

True as well.

Gosh, I feel like I'm just observing this thread and agreeing with some points. c,:

I didn't catch the homophobic part of her post I guess.

I agree with this.

Labeling people as homophobic just because they believe the romantic character development of two characters seemed rushed is actually pretty rude and impolite.

I have made a mistake. That was a thought I had before it was confirmed that Korrasami was canon. I saw folks being quite aggressive in their view that Korra and Asami had a heterosexual relationship. I feel it was fairly obvious that they were going to be together looks at the past two books.

I disagree on Varrick and Zhu Li. I would have preferred Varrick be crazy and oblivious to her advances.

That's alright ^^ Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I guess it was pretty sudden for Varrick to propose to Zhu Li (considering he really didn't take much notice in her before), so I do agree that more story to back up his action to do so would have been nice (at least a normal conversation, or him taking some sort of notice of her). But I thought at some point on, Varrick would realize that Zhu Li had feelings for him. I guess it doesn't really seemed so rushed since Zhu Li's love was obviously very one sided.

I still need to watch it. I finished season 1 and never got a chance to finish the other seasons!!! I've seen a mass of posts online about how amazing the finale was. MUST WATCH NOW. lol

I need to watch all of it as well

I've watched all of the 1st, 3rd and 4th season, but I sort of lost interest midway through the 2nd season

Korrasami aside, I want to say that I loved Zelda William's voice acting. Kuvira is the epitome of beautiful/badass, and I'm so glad they added yet another strong female character to the cast.

All hail the great uniter. c:

I wish they told us what happened to Sokka in his life besides him being on the Republic City Council.

I wish they would have actually written something that would have built the relationship up over the course of the show instead of just throwing it in at the end.

Do you think the reason Nickelodeon wanted it off air was because of this? I'm assuming the writers would need to brief them on what the show would entail.

They didn't take it off the air because Bryke wanted to do Korrasami (read Bryan's statement on tumblr and you'll see). They took it off the air because 1) Nickelodeon initially didn't think a show with a WoC lead would have a lot of viewers 2) the Book 1 finale had someone dying quite violently 2) the violence and moral ambiguity got worse in Book 2. Remember LoK started as a Saturday morning cartoon. After the Book 1 finale death, it was moved to Friday nights. And because that particularly time slot on Friday is a well known death slot (meaning no matter what aired at the time, ratings are low), Nick had the leverage (low ratings and dark storyline) to move the show entirely online.

Nickelodeon only went for Bryke's show in the first place because it was the sequel to A:TLA. If it had been a standalone project you can definitely bet that it would never have been broadcast.

And frankly, for a femslash relationship, Korrasami wasn't forced at all. Especially for an interracial one (because yes people still get angry about interracial relationships). It's called subtext.

Glad the creators confirmed the ending. :)

same, I felt that if they had ran another season of LOK then it wouldn't have ended great

tbh, I wouldn't mind seeing a prequel to TLOA, maybe something about a previous avatar or maybe not even an avatar at all

still can't believe it
although i always had a feeling that korra leaned in that direction

I am a massive LOK fan, I actually didn't want to watch it because i felt cheated from TLA. As in i didn't want to watch something since it wasn't the same. I finally got to it and i was so in love. I actually really support asami x korra and im usually not a fan of things like that :p

cried my eyes out in the finale
