From my knowledge I haven't seen a second version of a yellow pimpkin hat and I've done a quick g search and have no results from the normal nintendo blogging sites. Could be wrong but I've so far not heard even a rumour about this hat.

You are right there's only 1 type
So i don't know why people are saying there's 2 because there's not...
 
That guy is messing around, the hat is from a fortune cookie and there is no "second" hat. He just tries to make a "fool" pay overprice for a fortune cookie item.
 
Uh, sorry, not here to bid, but the yellow pikmin hat is fortune 15, if I remember correctly?

The one OP is auctioning off is a limited edition, super rare Pikmin Hat. When you wear it, it has a glow around the hood. The hat icon in the menu is also yellow, instead of the normal red. Here's a picture:
