I'm not picky. I've ruined all my villager's houses with gyroids and mismatched furniture... so if anyone gets one of my villagers their house would be a total mess. Maple's house is completely destroyed Sometimes I try and give them furniture that would look good in their home but they always manage to keep the ones that are totally mismatched.
I'm so freaking picky, horribly. AND I'm a junky for them having a bed, I don't know why, maybe the idea of sleeping on the floor is a horrible one for me??
I only let them buy stuff in re-tail if it's their original furniture item or it matches.
I never give them anything that clashes or else my OCD will lash out.

I do my absolute best to keep their houses at the most default state! unless they were ruined when I got them, I'm super picky about what I give to them.
I'm picky, but my actions are futile anyway as they end up ruining their own houses -.-
I did give Octavian an octopus chair a few days ago which hes now displayed, eventhough its not his original furniture
Luckily 9/10 of my villagers are generated by the game in parfait anyway so have their original stuff.
Molly is the only who hasnt, as i adopted her off here
It has to match somewhat or I buy it from them ASAP, I give Chief robo furniture, Barold office type furniture, cookie patchwork furniture, ect also random matching items! If the try to sell something very noticeable in their house, I buy it and send it back(Nan tried to sell her piano on me!). I also bought Sly's modern bed because I though it looked out of place and gave him a tatami bed instead
It really bothers me, but I've since given up trying to keep their houses original or nice. They manage to ruin them anyway, so no matter what I do or don't do it feels pointless to me. I just try to not visit their houses unless I'm in a mood where they guilt me into it.
Oh, and I got something very nice for one of my villagers who begged me to sell it to him. I knew it would look good and agreed. That same day it was up for sale in Re-Tail. >_<
Nope! All of my villagers houses are destroied. I don't really care but I've gotten a bit sad recently because whenever they invite me over and ask for opinions and I tell them I like it they get mad or sad and are just like "You're lying! It's horrible!" So recently I ecided to buy a set for each character in my town and just give them items from that set if they ask for anything.
