Are Thick Glasses Becoming a Thing?

The Tortoise Specs are basically golden thick glasses.

I wore the tortoise specs in CF and didn't like them on my character, but now that I know they look good then I'm going to have to try them :3

I had them and they were looking really good on my character, though I ditched them because I like my character without them, would like to wear it again one day. I have seen a lot of people wear them even a few of my friends. Guess it is a popular acessory, the hair-bow wig is a popular hat too.

I used to wear mine all the time since I wear them in real life too, but I've been wearing bandages instead for a while. I still switch back to them sometimes, though.

I wore mine for a while since they're the closest it gets to my real life glasses, but I ended up taking them off because of how awkward they look on my mayor...
Apparently it's been a thing for a while now where wearing thick glasses is considered cool because they make you look like a nerd or hispter..? I personally dont understand it since before the thicker your glasses were the more you were picked on, but whatever makes people happy I guess..

I've never owned or played Wild World. I didn't chat with many people in City Folk, either. So if it was like this the whole time, I've been missing out. I need those Tortoise specs, now. They look pretty cool.

They've been a thing for a long time in my neighborhood- every time I streetpass someone here in Seattle, my HHA showcase afterward is filled with thick glasses wearing characters, and very, very often with the same boy's haircut with the shaved sides. It has become a total cliche at this point.

I have a pair in real life. I used to make my character wear glasses in Wild World because I did in real life. I was obsessed with matching my character to me. Still am a bit. But I wear contacts mostly now in real life and my character hasn't had glasses in New Leaf. I don't think I did that consciously or not.

I did notice a lot of people wearing thick glasses in the game, though. Maybe since the trend started in real life it swept into the game, too. People do like to model characters after themselves.

Yeah, it's totally a trend. But I wear the exact same kind of glasses, so that's why I wear them.

Yes. It's a trend in real life. I see people with the thick glasses all the time. I really don't get it myself. As a glasses wearer, I don't like thick frames.

I don't wear thick glasses, but I do wear silver frames! I wear glasses to try to match my own personal life as I do wear them too
