Would you care if you bought or exchanged cheated/glitched IGB (or items)?

sorry if this is in the wrong place ;-;

I see so many posts on the Nook's Cranny forum, people selling 10+ million igb for tbt bells or NMTs. Please don't take offence if you offer these services and get the bells legitimately, but as someone who desperately wants to pay off their mortgage, these posts seem quite tempting.

I'm probably so late to the party here but I'm just curious as to whether these are all 100% cheated/glitched bells?? I know it was very easy/common with ACNL but I didn't think people could hack/cheat Switch games so easily?

Getting Bells is not hard when you can just buy masses of turnips and sell them at various islands for over 400 Bells each. There's normally a few every open for a while each day.

There are also tons of ways to get a ton of Bells without turnips, too. I'm sitting on about 20 million and I only buy turnips every now and then.

looks like turnips are the way to go then (・∀・ )

certainly wasn't trying to accuse anyone of cheating, especially on here!! Was just genuinely curious, as I haven't been keeping up with everything on here for a while, and I just remember how it was with new leaf

I know someone on a discord server I'm on that has two switches and islands. All it takes is for one of them to hit a good turnip selling price, if you then set the time on the other island to Sunday morning, you can go back and forth between buying turnips and selling them for profit again and again. It's probably not intended for people to do this, but there are no glitches or cheats involved! :D

Personally I don't really need IGB right now, I get more than enough from the random stuff that I end up selling daily, but if I were short I wouldn't hesitate to buy some, whatever the origin of those bells would be. I could get them myself, but it's not like I find the process of buying and selling turnips to be top tier gameplay. 🤷🏻‍♂️

it’s super easy to farm bells if you have someone with a good turnip price you can visit over and over again, just because someone is selling a lot of bells doesn’t mean they are hacking it in. but dither way i don’t really care where the items i buy come from, if they were cheated in it wouldn’t affect me.

It is easy to get bells in this game, so I wouldn't immediately suspect that someone is cheating just because they are rich, but I also think it's a little shady when someone is advertising "unlimited bells" or "unlimited nook mile tickets" on their market pages.

I'm someone who likes to get my own bells and items so I cannot foresee any circumstance where I'd be using these shops, but if I was, I suppose I wouldn't care if it was items/bells gained by cheating. If I'm willing to buy something instead of unlocking it myself, it wouldn't really make a difference where it came from.I wouldn't want anything to do with hacked items though. I wouldn't want to bring any item into my game that could potentially glitch my save file, or worse, brick my whole system.

I was able to pay my house loans back then thanks to turnips. And then later on, people got rich through tarantula, scorpion, beetle and shark farming without relying on turnips.

Many people have been playing the game since release date (and TTing too) so it's not surprising to see bellionaires at this point.

Hacked items though (like star fragment trees), that is a definite no.

I mean if someone is time traveling back and forth to find a good turnip price and or setting up a turnip selling shop on a day that isn't Sunday, it's technically cheating. Do I care? No, but I won't do it. I could care less about the turnip market as it is. Didn't get into it any of the other games and I won't be doing it on NH either.

Yeah IGB is ridiculously easy to get if you game the stalk market. Even 'infinite' bells can be acquired simply by knowing people who have their towns set to large spike prices and low buy prices regularly.

That being said, ACNH has been pretty heavily hacked as well. You don't see it often on here since there are strict rules against cheating that the mod team is usually swift about nipping in the bud, but on Nookazon and similar sites it's not entirely uncommon to see the same person having multiple Raymonds for sale in one day. There are a lot of illegitimate villagers, NMTs, items, and therefore IGB as well out there. That being said though, most people here probably aren't hacking to sell (and if they are, they're being mighty quiet about it), they're just experienced turnip sellers and time travelers.

If people have rare or valuable DIYs, they can make and sell items at a big markup. I usually prefer to trade in NMT rather than IGB, but I've done trades on Nookazon where I earned a million bells selling a couple crescent moon chairs or genuine art or rare bug and fish models. And I paid almost three million for a birthday table. If you trade in luxury goods, there is money to be made.

Edit: I should add that I do distrust sellers who have endless supplies of items listed on some trading sites. Endless gold, any villager's picture, endless birthday tables (they sell one and immediately have another listed), etc. etc. I bought my birthday table from a normal seller, not one of the hackers. If you watch listings for a few days before bidding, you can figure out who is cheating and avoid them if you want to. One of the best things about this forum is that there sure seems to be less of all that negative behavior.

It's totally easy to be a "bellionaire" in ACNH. I'm just gonna echo what everyone's been saying: the stalk market is a huge source of income. I used to do a bit of turnip selling but on my own island (I was lazy to go to other islands), and while I didn't have huge 400-bell turnip selling prices, I still managed to earn about 3 mil per week. Had I invested in going to other islands with a large spike in price, it'd be easy for me to get 10 mil a week. I just stopped with the turnip market ever since I ran out of dump space, lol.

I'm a little more skeptical about infinite NMT shops since it's a little harder to get NMT personally, but I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt since I don't have solid evidence haha. But obviously hacked stuff like star frag trees are a big no-no for me; they're not coded in the game the way bells and NMT are so I want to stay away from those as much as possible.

The IGB being advertised on this site are most likely legitimate. Nookazon, and ESPECIALLY eBay most likely have most if not all of them hacked in.

It looks like I need to start buying turnips. I said I was going to do this a couple months ago, but then something in life came up. 🤦‍♂️
