I personally think they're worth it. Not only do they last the longest (not counting customizing to 'fix' tools), they're also a form of status that says "I did this!"
That alone makes them worth it to me.
You don't need the gold watering can for gold roses. They spawn on their own.The only one I would ever really be interested in crafting is the Gold Watering Can, to be able to acquire Gold Roses. As others throughout the thread have said, though, I might have to force myself to craft one of each of them all at some point in the future just to get the Nook Miles. That said, I'd probably only feel comfortable doing this after amassing a stockpile, where the blow wouldn't hurt as much.
I would value a gold nugget significantly higher than 10k bells though. I don't think the bell amount they sell for is a good indicator of their true value in terms of how rare they are relative to something elseI guess it's worth noting that the tools all cost 1 golden nugget. So, the real question is...are the golden tools worth the bell equivalent of a golden nugget (10,000 bells)? In the long run, 10k isn't much once you've established yourself in the game. So...theoretically, the tools might be worth that price, just to put a hold on the annoyance of replacing them as often. Then again...golden nuggets are somewhat hard to come by. Maybe you'll get one or two in a day if you travel to a few islands. They're certainly not something that you're collecting in bulk. So...you probably want to keep those for crafting other things that you might want gold for. *Shrug*
They cannot be customized, and their durability compared to iron is not worth a gold nugget.
SameTBH, I get along just fine with a flimsy fishing rod or flimsy net most of the time.
