Do you guys know of anything that really helps with nausea? Im on some antibiotics right now and ive had the worst nausea of my life, and i dont know of anything that helps. the worst is that i dont actually throw up (usually that helps) it just makes me feel horrible for hours. any tips would be really appreciated!

throw up or you're ****ed. i've been suffering from nausea for... 3 years now i think. throwing up is the only option i've found that helps, and i've literally tried everything.

yeah, i may have to take some measures tomorrow if it gets really bad, because today it was about 3 hours of sitting on the couch trying not to move. Ugh and the stomach acid bubbles up in my mouth every few minutes.. gross.

Have you tried laying down while on your left side? That's what I do when I'm feeling nauseous. However, I don't know if it'll help since I do it after I eat something that doesn't agree with my stomach.

Ginger helps, either Ginger ale, Ginger Candy or just a small slice on the tongue. But honestly the best remedy is to throw up. But I would try Ginger.

Ginger tea or Chamomile tea normally works for me, but my nausea is linked to my Anxiety so most Anxiety remedies get rid of my nausea...

Try laying down, have a bucket next to you with some hot water and some Floor Cleaning Liquid (That stuff that you mop the floors with, that smells really good) mixed together so it doesn't smell, and it isn't just vomit in a bucket. Uh.. Try some Ginger Ale, try some Tea and hot soup. I'm sick right now XD

I totally feel you. Few years ago I had mono, and that was the worst nausea I had. Even the prescribed anti-nausea the doctor gave me didn't work. What I found to be most effective medication wise is a Transderm-Scop transdermal patch. All you do is simply stick it on the side of your neck, and leave it there for a maximum of three days. It takes a few hours to kick in, but it works wonders. Especially if you can't keep any medication down.

When I'm nausea, I just relax in a dark cool room, keep a bucket beside you and a class of ginger ail and water. I take deep breaths, and when needed take small sips of water or ginger ail (like a teaspoon at a time). The most important part is to try to keep hydrated. If you become severely dehydrated, you are just going to feel even worse.

On another note, grape flavour Popsicle are the best when throwing up/being nauseous. They taste the same coming back up XD. I usually eat a box of those when I am sick.

Tea, warm sprite/7-up/ginger ale, oyster crackers or saltines, Nausea tabs called Gaviscon work great for me, sleeping, a piece of bread or something.. i feel better when there's no bucket or trash can next to me honestly. if my mom puts one by me i feel sicker! and i wet a wash cloth with cold water and wring it out and wipe it across my neck and forehead. my face too. i keep cold pillows or a fan nearby as well.

I was on antibiotics that made me suuuuper nauseated when I had a bacterial infection. Everyone has suggested really good ideas, but something that helped me a little would be to run cold water over my wrists and neck.
You could just wet a cloth or paper towels and put it on our neck instead of just pouring it on yourself, though :P

Sea Bands!! Seriously. We went on a cruise last year and I got soooo seasick on the second day. Bought a pair of Sea Bands and was fine the rest of the trip. I've used them for nausea a few times since and they really help. They have these little balls that apply pressure to certain areas of your wrist when you wear them.

Ginger, ice, ginger ale, mints/minty things, tums, and peppermint oil is what I use.

I am sorry to hear that you have to deal with nausea issues, I have had quite a bit of nausea issues within the last few years so I feel your pain

I've found that ginger ale helps though!! I don't like most ginger ales, but Canada Dry is very good~ It is also helpful to relax and distract yourself with a movie or Netflix

Woohoo! You're like me! I had terrible stomach pains and nausea for four or so years which pretty much ruined my life. Doctors thought it was GERD, ulcers, pancreatitis, gall bladder problems, etc etc. They poked me, prodded me, shoved a camera down my throat and in the end determined that it was anxiety. Four long years later.

Unfortunately puking didn't work for me. I really really wanted to but I could never get it to happen. :( Ginger in all forms saved my life. Peppermint tea. Altoids. Slippery elm root steeped in hot water (blerggggg). Sipping cold water.

Seriously. If I was away from my desk at work everybody knew I was in the bathroom dry heaving.

Well, that was TMI. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Cola helps...

I am living proof, I pretty much have cola running through my veins by now and I`m never nauseated.

Lie on your right and don't worry if your sick
Lying on right stomach empties easier and cause less nausia.
Just let it out and you'll be ok

I tend to drink coffee and lay down. Maybe that's a little weird(?) but coffee dehydrates, and sometimes nausea is because your body is retaining too much water.

(On the other hand, it's equally as possible you're not retaining enough water. Before drinking coffee, drink straight, cool water.)
