Anyone have trouble finding amiibo cards and amiibo in their regions?

I live in Brazil and Animal Crossing: New Leaf is not really liked in the region which I live so I can't find anything amiibo related like amiibo figures of villagers or amiibo cards.

Another problem where I live is the high importation taxes which made everything cost almost the tripple of their original asking price.

Besides, I'm kinda afraid trying to buy stuff via internet.

Anyone else have that issue?

Where I live, I have yet to see a single card. There are a few Tom Nook figures around but nothing else. Amazon is my only source, so far, but only you know if that's an option in Brazil.

Buying stuff from the internet itself when you live in Brazil doesn't seem to be the problem. It's the customs/importing fees and also shipping taking forever (all from the Brazilian customs side of things) that is an issue. I don't live in Brazil, but I don't like shipping stuff to Brazil when I sell things on eBay or other places. Brazilian customs likes to hold things up forever, or sometimes even lose it, and it makes things risky to me as the seller. It also makes things frustrating for my potential buyers. :(

I wish I had suggestions for you, Buster Bunny.

Im from Ontario and I can't find any Welcome Amiibo Packs anywhere, if anyone has suggestions I'm open to hearing them, the packs online on ebay and amazon are too expensive for me to justify it!

There seems to be card shortage problems in the UK, or at least where I live. I can't seem to find card packs ANYWHERE at all now, which is a real shame because I wanted to start trying my luck with them to get my favourite villagers, but they're just no where to be found now. Plus it seems our packs only have three cards instead of the six you get in packs in the US, so that really sucks. The only place I've been able to find them is online, and they're being listed at ?4-5 a pop. Considering you only get three cards, one of which is a special, well... It's really not worth it.

At least we got the Sanrio set, but it feels minimal compared to the crap deal we get on the other series.

I am in the US (KY) and have issues with the amiibo cards. I have never seen a pack of Welcome Amiibo packs anywhere available. Due to how poorly the series 1 packs sold, most stores only have a surplus of series 1 and nothing else.

Also, when I have been able to find packs online (for a reasonable price), most have limits on how many packs you can buy, and how often you can buy (I still cannot buy packs of series 1,2,3 from amazon once I hit the 3 pack limit). The limits are so low, that there is no chance to getting set, or enough extra's to try to trade.

Due to this, I just ended up buying complete sets of series 4 and Welcome Amiibo from eBay. While I paid more per card than the packs, the amount of time trying to get the individual cards was well worth it (at least in my case).

On buying stuff from eBay, make sure to look at feedback, and how it is sent. While free shipping is great, normally this means by the slowest way possible. It is usually much better to pay a little more for shipping, and have tracking, insurance, etc, than to go with the free shipping option. Try to buy multiple cards from the same seller, and message them BEFORE bidding to see if they will allow you to upgrade the shipping. Also beware tracking from USPS (I would go with UPS, but that is my preference). USPS tracking does not work that well outside the US. While UPS will be more expensive, it is well worth it when you factor in that you will actually get your cards (and that is also another reason to buy multiple cards from a single seller).

Also on eBay, be sure to look a the bigger picture (i.e. dollar cost averaging). Yes, it is ridiculous to pay $5.00, $10.00 or even more for single card that you really want, but the more cards you buy the cheaper the card becomes. So if you also buy 10 cards for $1.00 at the same time, then cost of all of the cards becomes $1.82 per card (and yes, while the $1 costs more, the $10 card costs alot less and it is still under $2.00 a card which is what I target at).

Anyways, those are the tips I use and they have helped me, hopefully they will help you as well.

Wow! That is some evil pricing. Perhaps, when the initial demand settles down, prices and availability will be less painful.

I only buy the cards I need from eBay. I noticed when the update was released there seemed to be loads of listings, however there now seems to be a lot less being listed and it is mainly NPC cards. In the first 2 weeks following the update I acquired 6/10 dream villager cards, and none since. I may have to start buying from international sellers (I'm from the UK), despite the hefty shipping costs :(

Eh I still need to get:
Coco's card
Merengue's card
Cherry's card ( why is she so much on eBay? )
Poppy's card
Lucky's card

Yeah you'd think they would! But sadly I think this is just a case of buying them too late, they've been in circulation long before the update, and they were no doubt cheaper then. But since the demand has increased and the supply decreased, they're selling for far more than they should. Scalping is a nasty business but people will always do it, sadly. :(

I've never seen any amiibo stuff in shops but I can't say I've been looking hard. I just order everything.

amiibo figures are practically everywhere, but it's a bit tricky trying to find the cards..everything is really expensive, too

I've seen 5 packs of the welcome amiibo cards once at GameStop. Otherwise, I haven't seen any since then every time I go to gamestop.

I find amiibo figures easily but have trouble finding the cards. I think I'm just late to the game. I bought a couple series 1 and 2 packs and then went on hiatus from the game for a while. I recently tried to buy WA cards again after Christmas and had minimal luck. The only place I successfully find them (in Texas) is usually at Target. Last time I went, I thought they were out of stock, until I found two WA packs that had fallen and were hiding under other merchandise. I got lucky to find the only two packs they had. Other places like Best Buy had amiibo cards on display but didn't have any in stock. >.>

Not really, I go to GameStop (4 minutes away) or Target (8 minutes away). They're always fully stocked on Amiibo cards and figures. Obviously, the Sanrio cards I can't get.

I've been searching for amiibo online before I decide to go out to shops and check. Series 1 through 4 are easily obtainable on Amazon and for a pretty decent price- about ?3 to ?4 at most- but the Welcome Amiibo cards (for like either 3 or six in a pack, I'll have to check) from the same site and seller are ?25 which I was pretty annoyed about. Although seeing as GAME and the Nintendo UK site are out of stock of the WA cards then yeah, that's pretty difficult to try and get them. The figures are like the Series 1 - 4 cards, at a decent price so I'd be able to buy them from Amazon.

EDIT* Scratch that, the Weclome Amiibo cards are now about the same price as the others. Nice. I'm going to get me some of them now.

In the UK we have the nintendo store which is the main port to get the cards.

But trying to go in our main shops for things like that 'GAME' in the UK there more focused on Xbox and PlayStations.

You could try and look to see if they have a nintendo store for your country? But i do know from experience Amazon is good too!

I see some animal crossing cards and figures, but NEVER any welcome amiibo cards. Edit: Canada here.

Guess im lucky to get them fairly easily....
Everywhere online to buy, and some (game/toy) stores sell them...Although the price per pack is bit high.. (€4,50) for 3 cards which has 1 SP in it.
The Sanrio cards are easy to get for me! Saw these plenty online.. unfortunately for you guys they dont ship outside NEtherlands/Belgium.

I live in the Netherlands btw
