Anyone have any luck with Purple Tulips?

I heard they’re from crossbreeding orange tulips. Have TTed quite a bit when I was cycling out villagers but they don’t seem to produce purple tulips. They’ve been producing either more orange, regular colors, or sometimes black. Any extra step you need to take to get them?

I think it's quite rare from orange, but I've gotten loads from my black tulips.

i TT and have purple from orange, grown, not island gotten. it's rare, but once you have the first purple seems much easier lol. in my experience, aside from windflowers, purples in this game are fussyyyy

Yup, I've been trying to breed them from orange tulips for a long time now. At least a few weeks of natural time + whatever else I TTed. Breeding black tulips with each other spawned a purple tulip the next day.

i’ve traded for the majority of them but the only purple tulip i breeded on my own came from a bunch of orange tulips aha

I got one randomly next to Shep's house who has orange flowers around it. I didn't even have two orange tulips near each other but sure enough one purple tulip appeared next to one orange tulip. Might be due to tulips being my native flower? I've heard your native flower is easier to breed than the rest?

the native flower bit....oh yeah, agree with that. i'm up to my head in blue and purple windflowers, yikes

I bred a purple tulip by accident, which was a pleasant surprise. I assume it came from the black tulips I got on hybrid island.

I've gotten purple tulips from black tulips, and from orange tulips. All that had come from a hybrid island, if that makes a difference. It took a bit for them to start showing up, but now I have quite a few of them and they pop up pretty frequently.

I have some purple tulips...but I've never gone out of my way to grow any variety of flowers. I have black ones, orange ones...I think I have them all. But, I just kinda plant things where I want them and let them do whatever they want. I've just had good luck, I guess. Hahaha.

No, I'm still missing Purple Tulips/Pansies/Windflowers/Hyacinths. I finally just got purple roses.

I have not had any luck yet. I heard from a few people that to breed certain flowers you need someone to visit your island with the imaginary "spores" of for example, pink windflowers, and then the next day pink windflowers will sprout in your town. I have no clue if this is true or not, but the other day someone was over my town who had pink mums and I had not breed any yet, and the next day I had 2 pink mums in my garden! Super weird if it is true.

Turns out that Hybrid breeding isn’t as simple as planting particular colors next to another. They actually have genetics as well.

i read the title as "purple turnips" and i was so, so confused
also i got a purple tulip when it rained from a patch of tulips in my town without even trying to breed them so i think i just got insanely lucky lol

You might try using black tulips that spawned from your orange ones together two of them may be able to make purple
