I’ve tried selling or trading villagers a few times, but no one ever seems to be interested in the New Neighbor Network.
In the New Leaf Villager Trading Plaza, I sold or bought villagers all the time, and it seems like villagers were rarely voided.

I guess it’s because there are so many new players and villagers are being given away or sold constantly. But it also seems like the NMT islands make people less interested in trading and more interested in finding their own villagers.

Anyone else feel the same way?

By the way, Bam is in boxes if anyone is interested lol

I think it's because all the new villagers for sale make looking for villagers kind of scary for new players, especially with how high some starting bids are (Seriously! I see some that start at 50 NMT and like...cmon thats crazy!)

I never liked purchasing and trading in New Leaf, but in New Horizons I really LOVE island hopping and finding cute new villagers - I'm little addicted to island hopping lolol (Sorry Axel and Flo, love y'all but I gotta island hop!!!)

That's true, I hadn't even thought of nmt as currency. I used to buy/sell with tbt, but that is barely a thing anymore

Also it seems a lot harder to cycle villagers in NH so there are less people with empty plots
I don't get the impression that it's necessarily harder; I think it's less necessary, given that mystery islands exist. With the exception of Marshal and Raymond, I think the rates / price points for villager trading are good where they are. If they go down (likely, since Nintendo will probably release more amiibos for villagers), the rates should go down even further.

Also for people who TT a lot or island hop a lot (Like me) it's super easy to run into new villagers, so I feel like some of the demand isn't as big in like New Leaf where it was so hard to get a villager you wanted naturally.

Well for me it’s always more fun to island hop and look what villagers I could encounter. Same for the campsite. For the rest I just use my cards.

I know there are a lot of generous People which would give me my Low Tier Villagers for almost free, because I saw at least Gonzo almost 3 times now, but it’s more fun to obtain them by myself or using my own Cards. Otherwise I feel that I would not have earned that Villager. One person even wanted to give me Cherry.

Also if you encounter new Villagers and circle them around, eventually you can get Villagers you like or even put them on your Dreamies-List, because you found out that that one Villager isn’t as bad as you thought. That’s the most exciting part.

i haven’t been adopting villagers as i am determined to get my dreamies on my own and i’ve done about 2 successful adoptions but most of the villagers who i’ve had move out aren’t really sought after so i didn’t bother with them lol. but i feel like unless it’s a popular villager or an unpopular villager being given away for free, a lot of threads get ignored in new neighbour network
