anyone else miss a villager?

Honestly, I miss Sherb a little bit. Not enough to invite him back, but I read a bunch of unopened letters from him the other day, and it made me feel really bad about letting him go. He was one of my first move-ins and my first lazy, and I think it was time to let him move on to New Horizons. He was also one of the first villagers I found on a mystery Island. He was cute and all, but we didn’t click as much as I thought we would, I think for a long time I was so reluctant to let him go because I knew he was very popular and I was worried if I let him leave, I would have a hard time getting him back again. Kinda in that same situation with Judy. Recently I let Ruby go, my favourite villager of all time, but I haven’t really missed her since I have her amiibo.

Ken was my forced campsite smug and I didn't care for him. He was the first ever move-out on my island and I was all "the door is over there hun" before he even had the thinking bubble.
But when I did say yes, my villagers started talking about him and saying things like "I'll miss Ken, I hope he does well!" I suddenly felt so bad LOL. Like damn these other animals are going to miss this karate chicken. Maybe they were friends and because I was in search of cute dogs made their friend move out.
Also when Shari, who was my starting uchi, moved out, she said "You gotta make sure everyone's behaving now that I'm leaving!"... that hit me different. I was indifferent to monkeys before but that line made me really like Shari.

i felt so bad booting out via the campsite too! it's good for people who really want to get rid of a certain villager, but if you aren't and you just want the current camper more, then you can't help but feel sad to just agree. the fact that they're instantly in boxes all the sudden adds to it. >.<

I haven't experienced one of my villagers leaving yet but when I saw Drake earlier with a thought bubble, I got quite sad and was scared to talk to him (his not my favorite villager an he's a random move in but I got quite fond of him), I don't think I'm ready for anyone to go yet, good thing he jusy gave me a present lol

Nope. 100% of the villagers I've kicked out have been ones I didn't want. Plus, they were all replaced with betters.

Nooooo...them shopping on Main Street was part of the 16 villager cycle which no longer exists in NH, thankfully. If you miss them now, you can get them back again immediately without the need to cycle through 16 others so we already win with this current setup. I won’t want to go back to the NL style that’s just too much regret once you let go of a villager.

oh i didnt know that! (i didnt play too much NL tbh) i guess thats for the best then lol. still wish we could still be able to see them after they left tho, maybe they could occasionally send us mail? that could be kinda cute haha

Zell is still in my island, but i will miss him when his inevitable departure comes. I want Marshal and Raymond as my smugs and having three would be an overkill for me. I might end up getting him again in the furure. I dont miss any of the villagers i kicked out so far XD

Yeah, it’s a relief not to have that rule anymore. The mail thing could be super cute especially if they moved on to another island. It’s gonna feel so authentic writing to them and stuff.
I got Nan from a ticket island as one of my three tutorial villagers. I decided to keep her forever after having her on my island for a few days and I needed her upgraded interior for it. Camper Hamlet wanted to move into her home and I let him and started scanning Nan's card the very next day, but even that short time without her was painful.
