Some people said if you hit your villigers they move quicker, I tested it on Egbert then he got sad and I felt so bad I sent him a perfect Apple.
I'm sorry -.-. I can't hit them, idk what they did to deserve that.
Anyone else feel like this?

nah i can only do it to lionel. i really, really hate him. but others that i dislike/want to move, i cant.

I feel that if you're mean to them, they want to move. But they change their mind because they think in their head "Hey, he/she is abusing me. Maybe he/she will be nicer to me if I change my mind about moving. So if I stay, he/she might think about what he/she done to me and forgive me and become better friends"
So yeah, befriend your villagers to move them out quicker. Even if you don't like a certain one.

Hitting them counts as interacting, which moves their friendship level to points less likely to move out.

I've never hit an animal, though I've been tempted to pop one in the back of the head a few times for certain stupid requests...or if they're jocks.

I can't hit my villagers on purpose, no way! I've accidentally hit a couple of them with my net when I was trying to talk to them. They never got mad since it was just the one time but I felt so bad...

I did push a couple of villagers around on City Folk to make them angry at me, but I was an evil little boy back then so that's excusable haha.

I've only accidentally hit 'em. Would feel bad doing it on purpose.

I did experiment once when I *really* wanted Shari to move out, so I used an alt character and followed Shari around with a megaphone, repeating her name over and over, right in her ear. She got temper-tantrum-steaming-mad. When I closed the game and went to the title screen, there was Shari, hopping mad, stomping away outside her house and I laughed till I cried.

But ideally, the best way to get a villager to move is to get to a really high friendship rating with them, rather than beaning them with a net. They're more likely to ping to move and *less* likely to change their minds about moving when they do ping you to discuss it.

Whoever said that to you is lying. (Or misinformed but details, details) Hitting them will lower your friendship and if they DO ping you to move out, they'll get all "waaah why didnt you put up more of a fight?? Im staying till we're closer!!" crap.

I abuse all my villagers on my pattern mule that I named after my boyfriend. Why? I don't know. I really don't. I don't hit them though. I just push them around. I didn't even know pushing them for a while would upset them. I was just trying to get down one of my single spaced paths and Agnes was in the way so I kept pushing her down it and then she got all pissy. Whoops.

I physically can't hit my villagers, I tear up at the thought of it; even the ugly ones. All they ever did was think you're a good mayor and try to support you and then you just ruin their day like that... I cAN'T!! Also it has no effect on how fast they move, it's a myth.

If you hit them it puts them into the friend category which wont help you move them out~

I hit Punchy with a net because I thought it would get him to move faster. After hitting him, he turned to me and said, "W-Why did you hit me? I thought we were friends?" I felt my heart break into a million pieces when he cried. He looked so adorable and innocent ; n ; I feel remorse even to this very day. I hit him out of frustration because he was taking so long to ping me to move, but when he finally did I received his cute little picture in the mail. I miss you Punchy! I hope you're living a happy life in your new town wherever you are :')

Well I thought I might try it, thanks anyway.
I couldn't hit them, I felt so wrong.
:(. Anyway thanks guys! Il just stick to ignoring them

No, I never hit my villagers, not even random voids. I did however give Beardo a taste of the old net when he was coming on to Savannah. That's where I draw the line.

Yes I always feel dreadful doing anything nasty to them and I never let anyone even if I hate them move lol

wow why would you want your villager to move faster in the first place???! the only villager I ever hit on purpose was Broffina because I hate her guts

I only hit villagers on purpose if they say something stupid in the conversation...or they're Cobb. But yeah, hitting villagers lowers their friendship rate, and they're less likely to move out, and even if they ping you, they'll probably demand that they stay.
