As far as I'm concerned, the Gorillas are a pretty good species. I like a solid number of them; Boone, Caesar, Hans, Louie, Peewee, Rocket, and Violet.
Hans is my favorite of the bunch. I like his abominable snowman/yeti design and his Smug personality. I have him as a resident in my main New Leaf town.
Boone is probably my second favorite. His mandrill design is just very visually striking and cool. I've had him a couple times over the years in various games and he's a solid Jock.
Louie is in third place behind the others because of the Donkey Kong design. I've never had him in one of these games yet, but would like to. I had the chance to have him as my starting Jock villager in New Horizons but passed him up because I was looking for someone else in particular (who, unfortunately, I didn't even end up getting because I got exhausted of resetting and settled for an island with the starting fruit, map, and airport color scheme I was comfortable with). I've liked his design since I saw it in the player's guide for the GameCube game back when I was young, and he's really memorable for me.
Rocket has the superhero theme like Agent S, Kid Cat, etc. and I tend to like more unique designs so she's good for me.
Caesar has that moustache and I think it looks fine. Good enough for me.
Peewee's a pretty basic gorilla and usually that would be a downside for me because I like the designs that stand out at a glance, but I don't know, he seems good to me for whatever reason.
Violet has the little bead accessories. Not much, but it's something. I like villagers with those sort of aspects that set them apart. Her fur color is also agreeable. Not really a fan of her little cartoony eyes though. She's probably my least favorite because of the eyes, but still has enough good aspects to work with.
That's about it. I really didn't think much of Al at first, but he was a starting villager in one of my New Leaf towns and as I got to know him more while trying to get him to move out, I warmed up to him. Not enough to keep him, mind you, but yeah.
