Anybody else starting to not like their island name

I don't regret the name I chose as I named it after Pianta village from my favorite game Super Mario Sunshine.

I always believed I had to use something really meaningful and now I believe that was the reason I always did resets. This time around, I opted for something simple, Mistfall. Still enjoy the name to this day.

I'm not happy with my island name but it's passable and I'm going to start all over just to change it. I just sort of came it on the spot because I didn't notice the name I had in mind wasn't going to fit.

I wish they would let you change your town name (even if just once). I've always had a town called 'Cheshire' since City Folk and automatically named my island the same without giving it much thought. My previous towns were Alice in Wonderland themed so it made sense. But I find I currently have no interest in continuing that theme and really wish I could change the name. To what, I don't know!

While I don't personally regret my own island's name, I think that there should be a way to change it added to the game. Sometimes you're in one thematic mood, and name your island for that kind of idea, but in 2 years, what you like could change and the name no longer fits.

I don't regret my island name (Vasisland). I second guessed it at the beginning, but it's grown more on me as time's worn on and I'm perfectly fine with it now. Of course, it's not like I can change it now, nor would I want to lose any of the progress I've made in order to change it, so it doesn't really matter, lol.

I named my island in about 30 seconds as I wanted to get playing and had never had an AC game before. Mine is called Chilton because in the middle of lockdown the plan was for it to be a “chill town” for me to escape to! I’m still okay with it

I think if I had known the island name would be so much a part of the game (or how obsessed I would get with the game) I would have put a lot more thought into it. I think this would have resulted in an overthought over meaning-weighted name that I would likely have hated within two days, so in a way I am thankful I didn’t know anything when I named my island. I chose something pretty but fairly neutral, which works well enough for me.

I wasn't sure about Hollowhead at first, but now it's quite fitting with all the skeletons on my island. I have them everywhere, serving food, manning the lifeguard post, one at the lookout point, some even playing fooseball.

That wasn't always the plan, it was more going to be based around my fave villager Coco, but I wish we had gyroids.

Your island sounds really cool! And I hope that gyroids will be added eventually. Do you have a dream code?

Yes I wanna change mine so bad I initially went with Kikiri because, well, it’s a tropical island!! But my theme is more forest/natural/autumnal so the name doesn’t suit at all. I wish I went with something like Willow or even Twin Peaks after my favourite TV show...

Names don’t worry me as long as they aren’t terrible. I named my island Ember as the massive Australian bushfires had just ended at that point, it had a huge impact on everyone and then we got corona lol. Anyway it just seemed fitting. Now I think it’s just bland but I’m fine with that personally.

I used an island name generator then slightly changed one of the results to get Cambry... I don't dislike the name but equally I kind of wish I had put some kind of thought into it. I've also seen people call their islands Eroda which I really wish I'd thought of but in the moment I just wanted to start playing!

Yessss. Mine is named "Wolfland" because I love wolves and always add it to everything, but I don't like it anymore and wish I could change it to something cute since that is the theme I am trying to create and because I have mostly the "cute" villagers now. Not to mention that people assume that "Wolfland" means that my island is full of wolf villagers. As much I love wolves, I don't have or want any wolf villagers lol

A little bit, but only because it's not very original apparently. My island is named Isla Haven and I haven't seen or been to any other island named Haven but I saw somebody post once about the most common island names and Haven was one of them. I don't care if I share the same villagers with people, that's inevitable. I also don't care if my island is 100% unique. However, it is kind of a bummer to think that my island name is some kind of cookie cutter name. I would never reset my island nor does it bother me enough that I think about it often.

Nah, I like my town name, it’s based on a region in zelda, so I really don’t mind it that much. (It’s Lanayru)

though they should add an option to change it though....probably not going to happen.
