Anybody else sort their pockets?

I keep all of my tools in the top row with my wand and a diy bench in the upper right corner on the top row, and then i normally like to keep all of my materials shoved on the left and then the middle and right I like to keep open for everything else c:

Pretty much what you described is how I do it. I have the unbreakable tools first at the top left (ladder and vaulting pole), then watering can, slingshot, rod and net, stone axe, then shovel and sharp axe (which is not on my tool ring). I tried to go in order of how often I use stuff, so it reorganizes itself as little as possible when I break a tool. Slot #10 is my customization kit stack.

The second row is materials of one stack each - branches, then the three woods, stones, iron nuggets, then 2-4 slots for pears and/or coconuts when I need to move trees. I don't carry weeds, clay, bamboo, etc around and craft the things that need those at my house.

Then the last two rows contain whatever I'm doing at the moment. Usually I separate stuff I'm moving from stuff I'm selling by putting the latter at the bottom right corner.

I've also optimized my tool ring: slingshot is the top slot, net is the left slot, they're on cardinal directions so it's easier for me to get to them quickly. Selecting the diagonal ones takes a little more deliberation so I mapped things like the fishing rod and watering can to them.
