Anybody else sort their pockets?

I always have ever since new leaf.

Stuff to be sold goes in the bottom towards the end of my pockets, tools go in top, and other stuff goes in between usually right under tools and has to be sorted too (extra money first, then stuff that needs to go home/in storage, then stuff for the museum, etc.).

I was wondering if I'm alone in this? I just do it automatically.

Yes. I cannot stand my pocket inventory being cluttered. It's a habit I cannot shake and I'm totally fine with it.

I organize it in just about the same way, but my DIY tree stump thing is always the first slot of the second row. My tool ring has to always be arranged a certain way, which I assume most people do.

In order with no spaces in between where a bug or something can get lost.

The only time I make something have a designated spot is when I'm about to trade so I can see it right away. It's always the far bottom left.

I mean, I used to organize my inventory in the previous games but I don't do it anymore.

Same here. Tools go first, then mats, next seasonal mats like eggs or cherry blossoms, then fossils I need to take to Blathers, last bugs, fish, and random stuff I've picked up. I'm particular about my inventory in every game I play.

Semi-related but I'm loving the sortable storage now. I used to be constantly reorganizing my storage in new leaf. It's a relief to just toss everything in and sort with a button.

I guess I somewhat sort the same way as you; tools are always at the top row followed by resources I might need at the second row. Other than that I can't be bothered to rearrange since most of them would either be sold or kept in storage.

my inventory is almost always full even though I'm constantly visiting my house to put it in my (also almost full, 1,600 space) storage or sell it in timmy and tommy's item box which I treat as a garbage bin

Absolutely. Tools, resources, things to store back home & stuff to sell are all clearly grouped. The few seconds of organization helps me avoid selling things accidentally or forgetting to drop something off in storage.

I semi-organise it most of the time. Usually just keep any tools up the top, stuff to sell in the middle, and things to keep down the bottom. I used to organise my pockets all the time in New Leaf, however I feel the the New Horizons version of organising pockets is a bit too tedious and clunky for me to do it thoroughly.

Tools fill the top row, materials fill the second. Everything else goes in the last 2. Sorting was so much faster in New Leaf because of the touch screen. I was hoping it would be the same here since touch screen works in some places. I find it weird that touch screen is selective lol. But yes. I do sort my inventory. I used to be picky with the tool ring but after so many times of having to leave my tools on tarantula islands and all that stuff and crafting new ones so frequently, I can't be bothered to keep rearranging them, only to get rid of them in a few hours and do it again anyway.

Nope, mine is always a mess, in NL I did keep it organized, but I’m lazy to organize my pockets in NH.

all my tools go on the left two rows, everything else goes wherever unless I'm trading + need to group things

yep! tools (8 slots) golden axe, and custom kit for the first row. last row end slots for things to keep. everything else is sell.

I always make sure my tools are all on the top, and if I need to make sure to have things grouped for some reason (like so I don't get confused during a trade) then I will, but otherwise it's way too much of a hassle to organize all 40 things with no touch screen I wish there was some kind of autosorter.
