I won my second Bug Off yesterday, but don't really have any place to keep the second trophy. Since the game doesn't have anything descriptive about the trophy such as the date of the Bug Off or the size of the catch that won the competition, it's just identical to the other trophy with no significant meaning. So is there any point in keeping the second one around or can I just sell it for money?
Any Reason to Keep Around Multiple Bug Off Trophies?

I guess there isn't any that I'm aware. I just shove everything extra in my storage lol. I do have a trophy room though.

I might use them to add a touch of reality to a room like a living room, where it’s common to find trophies displayed around to show mementos of past events.

TBH I think the trophy case DIY should have used the trophies from fish/bug tourneys as materials. That way you still have something after collecting them
I still have all of mine in storage but I really have no use for them. I stopped participating in the tourneys just because I ran out of room and couldn't bring myself to sell them. I have seen people make trophy rooms in either their house or the museum, so that's an option if you're interested.

I had over 30 of them in storage, they were all gold. I would give some away or used in other towns, but right now for the left overs l just keep them in storage.
There's no reason to keep around multiple trophies unless you want to use them as decorations or fill up your storage space. The trophies do give you bonus HHA points like xara mentioned. I like to watch the award ceremonies and always participate in the tournaments. I usually give the gold trophies to villagers who request for furnitures since they can't get it with me around (dark humour)

None of those items are really aesthetically pleasing, but they can't really be obtained any other way, I guess. So I don't know.
I'm not big on the trophy room idea be cause even if I maximize as much storage as I have, eventually I'm going to run out of space. And there's nothing that distinguishes the trophies from one another. If there were something like a plaque or something that detailed the date of the win, that would give me a little more incentive to find something to do with them. But as is, I might end up selling them or something. Don't really know.

I have one fishing trophy of each level, gold, silver, and bronze but even then I normally only display one in my house and don’t have enough storage to keep any more, I have given a few to my villagers though

I usually sell them, though I do like keeping them even though they are so easy to receive. I usually get gold I only got silver and bronze because I purposely get bad bugs just to get all 3 types of trophies. Same with the fishing tourney.
I like to keep them because I have extreme hoarding tendencies. I rlly can’t get myself to sell them or display them cos I never rlly liked the look of trophies around the place. I’m pretty much the same irl, I have some trophies but I stash them in my cupboard as I rlly don’t like showing them off as they become the topic of convos ahaha. It rlly comes down to me wanting to keep everything in ACNL.
That's how I am with clothing ans furniture. Mostly because I have plans to use it at some point once I upgrade the part of the house they would be useful in. But that ends up taking a lot longer than I usually expect it to so my house ends up getting crammed with things.

I just use the copies to have my other profiles to keep and used some for my trophy room in my town.
