Any help with the blasted scorpion?

I've seen, (been spooked by,) and caught at least one tarantula out of the six or seven I've maybe seen playing the past two months. It was a freak accident I even caught it, I swear. Had nerves of steel and just swung at it after a good old fashioned Western stare down.

But I haven't seen one scorpion. Not even one. Not once. Anywhere. Not even heard them.

Anyone have tips for making them spawn, etc? (My town is very open, just LOTS of flowers/some trees. There are specific places where I know tarantulas like to lurk. I'm not ripping the whole village apart though.)

Make a note of where you've seen them in the past and always check those areas. Try going out of your house, circling to all the areas that you've seen them, going back in your house and repeat. WHile hunting for the tarantula, I saw about 6 scorpions, even caught 2 of them. This was in the span of about 5 days, so it definitly works. It's probably going to take a long time so just be patient and keep at it.

Thank you, I appreciate the help! <3 (I wasn't sure if their spawn rate was lower than the tarantula or not.)

i have no real tips D: other than tenacity! i saw & caught my scorpion around about the same time i saw & caught my tarantula. i'm glad i got lucky, my heart couldn't take the spooks anymore lol.

Keep an eye out in flower patches. I've noticed they like to spawn there frequently so you'll often miss them or scare them off without even noticing. I found mine at 11PM-12AM, accidentally scared first one off but found the second one about 10 minutes later. Just walk around slowly. Also do the save & continue trick every few minutes to 'refresh' your bugs.

Good idea on the 'save & continue'. I like this plan. <3 Will try it out and see how it works, thank you! I appreciate the input/advice!

Haha, tenacity is not one of my strong suits most days, but now and then I get a dose of it. I'll just have to go for it, at least I won't worry so much after I catch one for the museum.

I've searched at all hours, up to 5 hours a night and haven't seen one EVER.

At least in Wild World they were frequent, and you could track them by following mosquitoes, as they tend to hover around expensive fish and bugs.

In Wild World they do. :)

Ohhhh, okay. I thought you meant NL. Whew.

I do remember playing Wild World, but never had many encounters with them. Mostly Oak Silk Moths if anything.

City Folk, however, Scorpion tracking was a hugely anticipated event between my brother, sister and I. The whole room went hush whenever a tail peaked over the hill.

Those Silk Oak Moths in NL scare the crap out of me!

They sound like huge bats. :D

Oh God they do.

Thankfully I usually always see them before they see me. I can't say though that I'm not more startled by beetles, that low drum of wings really sends a chill up my spine. (As it does in real life. ;-; ) Usually the bigger or more rare the beetle, the lower the buzz I've noticed. Usually comes with a 'crap!' afterthought.
