Any goals before New Horizons?

So I created a new town of a different cartridge, so I still have my main town.
Anyway, on that town, I want to see how far I can go for 9 months while waiting for New Horizons.

I'm going to boot up HHD and create a fully prepared house, with a kitchen and bathroom, etc., so when my home is at it's biggest in ACNH, I'll be able to carry a solid blueprint into the game stress free. The problem is, theres so much new furniture that was introduced in PC, I'll have to experiment with interior designing in ACNH anyways.
A goal I set outside of the games is to start commissions and buy my own Switch and ACNH. I'm also doing odd jobs like baby sitting and painting so hopefully that will pay off

I'd like to finish my art museum too, as well as decorating my side-character houses, and finally launch a dream address. I'd like to say complete my badges, but I don't think that's ever going to happen, haha.
I?m trying to redo the entire layout of my town and submit a new dream address before I start on new horizons. I was leaving my town more natural before, really because of laziness, but now I really want to turn it into a cool developed town with lots of hybrids and bushes. I?m going space themed with a galaxy walking path . I wish I could change my town name to Andromeda though! Sucks you can?t ever change your town name.
Really I just want to be able to say my two towns are finished! I’ve been working at them for years, one is mostly complete in a more “full” sense (it’s my main so I work hard at the museum, landscaping, Main Street unlocks, etc)
And my secondary I just want the actual layout/houses done so I can have a good DA before I switch over to NH!
Landscaping is such a pain though I’m so darn indecisive about it and hate having to do the whole diving trick to get the pwp’s I need unlocked, so good luck to me and my sanity!

I want to finish my town and get all the badges.
Currently, I'm nearly done with my houses, I just need to order and customize a few more items and then I'll be done, but the landscaping is a bit harder. I had everything planned out, and I planted all the bushes and trees, but now I'm not really happy with it, so I'll have to change a few things and figure out what flowers to plant where. It's a bit monotonous as it currently is, since I mainly used red hibiscus and holly bushes, and I just think the combination of black and red flowers looks best. I have to break it up a bit, and also meet some added goals, like having all of the fruit growing, and still having a perfect town.
As for my badges, I just need to finish the visiting and hosting badges, and the StreetPass badge. Hopefully I'll be able to get lots of StreetPass hits while I'm in Japan this summer, and I'll have to work on visiting and hosting while I wait for New Horizons to come out.

My only goal right now is to finish Moriyo Village, my main town. It's been at a solid 80% finished for a long time, and one day I want to make it near 100. With the announcement drop of New Horizons, I think 9 months should be enough time to finish that extra 20%, or atleast 15 of it, esp since now I use the ReTail & villager boards. Infact, thanks to my giveaway, I've finally been able to remodel my train station to match my town hall. I've been working on this town for 2 years now, right now I'm doing tweeks and getting rid of extra stuff to keep what I actually need.

I really want to finally finish landscaping my town (it?s been over 2 years...). I also want to finish my encyclopaedias since I?ve never actually completed them before

Using HHD to plan is actually a good idea- I might honestly do the same thing.

Yeah man actually that's a great idea, to plan in HHD ahead of time. Will try that too!
Before NH I'd really like to finish all my encyclopedias and museum exhibits. Would be great if I could redo my house interior too!

For now, just getting to 100 visitors so I can upgrade my train station to the zen train station! But that doesn't really have anything to do with the NH update. I just really want to get that over with as fast as I can because I'm really itching to get it renovated. Other than that, I don't really have a specific goal in mind. I don't mind not "finishing" my town before NH arrives. I'm just going to work on them at my own pace even after the release of the new game. I always have ideas for rooms and I'm always switching things up. It's likely I'll do this even after the new game is released. I'll probably be more invested in NH, but that doesn't mean I'll completely stop playing my towns. But 9 months is PLENTY of time for me to get a nice version of my town to upload to the dream database, so I guess that is one goal. :>
