Another island/area for shops

We saw in the Direct today that the museum, Able sisters, etc are on our island. But then towards the end of the direct we saw Harvey who says he's from another island as well as Kicks who was a "traveling merchant." We've also heard nothing of Harriet or Gracie too.

Do you guys think that there is a possibility there will be another area or all the shops will be solely on our island?

I don't think so. There has been another island confirmed for Harvey, but other than that I don't think there will be any others.

I think it’s more likely that Gracie and etc. are back to traveling merchant status. Maybe certain ones will move into the Nook’s store once we’ve upgraded enough?

I’m wondering if Harriet won’t be in the game, since we can change our hair on our own now.

Yeah I get what you mean. It’s definitely less convenient, not sure what to think \:
I do think the traveling merchants add a very nostalgic feel to AC, since they’ve been such a big role in so many of the games for so long. So I kind of like that

I really hope this isn't the case. I really want to go to Gracie's store and buy furniture from her and get it wrapped up in that cute little gift paper after I'm finished. That's really heartbreaking that she'd be reduced to a street merchant with a minuscule stand. The Direct was only 25 minutes long though, I'm sure they had to leave some details out.

I really hope at least 60% of the others are back. It'd be so boring just having 3 shops with the same old original NPCs and nothing more.

I have a feeling we weren't shown all the possible shops, or that Nookling Emporium (or whatever it's called in New Horizons) with have areas with other vendors. I wouldn't be too concerned at this point.

This implies that there will be more shops to build than just the ones they showed in the direct.
