Rurouni Kenshin, is an old show, I don't know if there are any places to watch it but it is one of the BEST anime shows, even today.It's also a series of books, as well as tv shows. OH, and it's a movie too(it's called samurai x)

It depends on what your into.
Currently, I would suggest watching Natsume Yuujin chou. It's a beautifully written series, that has a lot to do with Japanese mythology. The second season is still running though and i think there will be a third. You should also DEFINITELY check out Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Also, if you want to watch a really good movie, look into The Girl who Leapt Through Time. I cried, like, five times!
