I also have to agree with this post, yes I do.
But, uhhh yeah. I've come to find that a lot of people on here like anime.... so, your opinion is most likely hated on here.
And I mean hated.

It's quite ignorant to be one sided, and it's quite prejudiced to assume all anime is Japanese.
It depends all on the person's preferences.. really. I just am intrigued by the ignorance.. Honestly, I find it a little humorous that the thread starter obviously doesn't understand what anime is. It pretty much is no different than an American cartoon. The only uniqueness of Anime is the style of art.
In all seriousness, the Asian anime generally revolves a similar style of art, but the stories are different. What makes a cartoon good or bad is the content of the show. Because writing manga novels and creating anime is the equivalent of American novels and soaps, their culture is more influenced in cartoons.
I, preferably, don't really watch either Anime nor Soaps at all. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick anime due to the vast diversity of storyline genre. I'm being prejudice in saying that American soaps are generally "romance/drama/affair" type stories. To me, it's not my thing. It might be for American women, but it doesn't appeal to me; it's probably because I'm a guy. However, NBC's Heroes is amazing.
In Anime, there are thousands of titles ranging genres from sci-fi to horror. None of the anime have to limited to fictional stories either. Some popular Japanese titles are, but not limited to, Naruto, Death Note, One Piece, Shaman King, etc. Of course, these shows are out of the typical norm of genres of Anime produced by the Japanese culture. Crayon Shin-Chan or something is of Chinese origin anime as well, I believe. Apparently, it's very popular to Asian kids.
On the contrary to being limited by its style of art, I'd imagine the culture of Anime revolves around the stories more than the art itself. To dislike a culture is to be ignorant of the differences in this world. The differences in this world are what makes us unique.
To the thread starter, you obviously don't know anything about Anime except for the Art style.
I must agree that a lot of Anime storylines are pointless and meaningless, but it is of the creator's rendition of their story. Don't hate the art, hate the artist.
It's similar to that of American Music. Everyone's out there to write songs and share it to the world. Of course, there are always select few who do it for the fame, even in Anime. People get one hit wonders, and there will rarely be any "super bands" that consistently make "top of the chart" songs. Our global culture is growing extremely too fast to keep a limited culture.
If you can't accept diversity, you cannot accept change. Therefore, you are ignorant of anything beyond your own sense of security. You can whine and moan, but we all obviously know that you are much more ignorant than many of us. Grow up and deal with differences. Not everyone has to "fit your standards."
If people had to fit my standards, you'd be in a concentration camp. And we all know where ideology went..
