Anime sucks!

woah... Sponge-Bob is Sponge-Bob, no matter where it's made. Sponge-Bob = Extremely Epic Fail It is beyond stupidity.

...lol. Seriously, what are you talking about? What country it's made in doesn't make any difference...it's how good the show is. Paranoia Agent had a brilliant story...

The reason most anime fans don't like cartoons like Spongebob and still wouldn't like Spongebob even if it was made in Japan is because american cartoons are targetted at children. In Japan, anime in general is targetted at teens and young adults and some is actually targetted at older people in general (For example, Evangelion). There is some anime for children (like Fruits Basket) but anime isn't the same thing as cartoons. The West just hasn't caught on to it yet...some shows, like Avatar: The Last Airbender, are getting close, but in western countries most animated things are still considered for children-only.

Some people may be Japan-obsessed and just like anything made in Japan...these people are asses. But not anyone that likes anime is like that...some animes really do have good storylines and are worth watching. And if you close your mind and refuse to accept that possibility, and lump all anime fans into the same basket, you're the same as the people you're condemning.
No. It's trendy to hate America - didn't you get the memo? Japan is, as of right now, the trendiest country in the world.

Spongebob is targetted at children, but I know a lot of adults that like it. I only know of unaccomplished children and unemployed man-children that still fawn over anime. Anime is not mature. The older I get, the less I find it enjoyable. Spongebob remains entertaining. There are, as I said, a select few anime shows which are enjoyable. Not much.

You sound Japan-obsessed. Anime isn't as mature as you'd like to label it. Cartoons, in general, lure children to the television.

Refusing to accept what possibility? The possibility that not everyone that watches anime is obsessed? Wow, Sherlock, thanks for the heads up. Drop my detective, I NEED your number.

But seriously, yeah, duh - I watch some anime, very little; I am not fond of condemnding myself. Nice theory though - stating the obvious is a notable trend in animes ;)

lol. Do you know how to respond to anyone without ridiculing them? Do you really think you're the greatest person on the planet or something? I don't have anything against you, I'm just saying. You're a very negative person. Every topic I've seen you in you insult someone. Every opinion that is expressed that is contrary to your own you treat as if it is the most idiotic thing on the planet.

You aren't as great as you think you are.

Anyway, I'm not saying anime is the most mature thing on the planet, I'm saying it's targetted at mature audiences in Japan. American cartoons aren't. Which is why it is not strange for older people to like anime and not cartoons. You can go on thinking anime is immature and only weeaboos like it, but you are really one of the most immature people I've ever met, so your opinion on that subject doesn't matter much. Until you stop judging anime by Naruto and watch an anime like Paranoia Agent you won't really understand what I'm saying. Some anime is very mature and very deep, with intricate storylines and meanings. It's just another form of media, and I enjoy all kinds.

Anyway, I know you'll respond to this with some more sarcasm and witty comebacks (and possibly even an addition to your sig like last time! that really did make me chuckle) but once again I don't intend to waste my energy arguing with you. I wasn't talking to you in the first place, I was talking to the person that mentioned spongebob. So bye, and have a nice day. And I really do mean that.

The fact that you're paying attention to my ridicule means it's working. Maybe you should replace all of your drivel with just "WAHHH!" It amounts to the same thing. Nice last ditch, by the way.

EDIT: I have watched Paranoia Agent - it is stupid. There is nothing entertaining or mature about it. To find it "deep" you must be "deeply" disturbed, or have poor taste. Good graphics and a TV14 rating does not make it "mature" or "deep". I'll give you a shot though - tell me, IN DETAIL, how it is deep.

I hate how overrated it is.
I like the art but the animating is bad, and that's all I really need to say :P
