Animals having Conversations

For some reason, none of my animals talk to each other. I missed a conversation because I was fishing.

Moe and Tammy were talking and I was running towards them to find out what they were talking about. I missed it by a millisecond because Moe then began to stamp and get angry. Tammy was crying and depressed.

This is the only conversation I've seen on New Leaf so far. Do you guys have any idea how I can find out if they'll talk or not?

You'll see them doing emotions when talking to each other. It's not very common in this game to see them talking, like in past games. I have only seen it a few times.

Yeah I've noticed they don't talk as often either. It's kind of sad. I miss eavesdropping then them asking my opinion of what they're arguing about.

Mine do it on the sly. They do it constantly, but right as I reach them, off their seperate ways either neutral, happy, sad or mad they go.

Same my villagers talk ALL THE TIME.
