Animal villagers moving?

There's one villager I want to move away, but what I'm wondering is: if that villager moves away, will another villager of that same personality move into the EXACT same spot as the previous villager?
I just started a new town and I have certain spots that I want projects/buildings that I don't want an animal house to fill up.
P.S. All my other villagers I want to keep have every other personality - the villager I want gone is a "lazy" villager.

Not exactly. What usually happens is that if a villager of a certain villager moves out, another villager must move out after, and the next villager that moves in will be the 'lazy' type as you mentioned. It won't always be in the exact same spot, but it is a possibility.

If you're concerned about villager house placement, you could always try plot resetting. When you're expecting a villager soon, time travel a few days ahead on your 3DS clock and then load a new game (do NOT load your mayor or it all goes to hell) you should search around your town and see if a villager's plot is there. If you like the spot, save as the player, if not, then repeat the process. If you have any questions lots of people are willing to help on the forum, including myself
