Someone asked for a list that explained some Animal Crossing words/phrases that is used a lot, so I made one It's messy and it's long. Enjoy!
Ping - when an animal sees you and get an ! over it?s head. Used to trigger Public work project or moving out for example.
Dreamies - Favorite and wanted villagers that people are looking to move into their town.
Cross posting - Someone posts the thread in several Animal Crossing Websites and other websites, usually to find something they are looking for or get as much money as possible out of a trade.
Void/Voiding - An animal is not adopted and disappears after moving out of the player?s town.
In boxes - The animal is in boxes NOW and ready for adoption.
Cycle Town - The player has a town in which time traveling out and in villagers is the main object. Usually to find wanted villagers faster without messing up their main town or to earn extra bells/sets.
(Want to) Catalouge / catalog - Someone wants to catalogue an item so they can reorder it later from their Nook?s store.
Dupe - a cheat used to clone items, bells, flowers etc.
Glitch - If you use a tweeter or beans at special places you can glitch your game and walk where it usually isn?t possible to walk. The railway for example.
Sets - A set is a collection of furniture that goes together in a set. Some are more valuable than others.
Gracie stuff - A giraffe will open up an expensive shop on the top floor of the Nook?s store. Her items aren?t renderable, they are seasonal and expensive.
Patterns - used to make path ways through your town or other graphical good-looking trinkets
QR-reader - A sewing machine that reads QR-codes from the internet, used for designs and patterns.
QR codes - se above.
Town Tree - the big tree that grows with time and the the more you play. Located at the middle of the event plaza.
Space - You can have a maximum of 10 villager in your town at once. You need at least one free space if you want to adopt a villager.
Campsite - You can make villagers move in from here. It?s a public work project. You can only move them to your own town.
Secret Beach - a part of your beach that is cut of from the main beach. You can use a wet suit to go there.
Villager?s Picture - A picture of a villager that has liked the player so much it decided to give the picture to the player. One of the objectives in playing the game is to get the villager pictures.
Nintendo items - Obtained through fortune cookies.
Hybrids - special flowers that grow when normal flowers are bred - pink, black, gold, purple, blue, orange etc.
Signatures - once in a while villagers will ask for signatures. You have to go to another town to collect them.
Katie - Katie is a cat that is traveling between towns. Take her to someone?s town and she will send you a rare gift the next day. The town that Katie went to will later find her wandering around in the town a couple of days later.
TT - Time traveling by changing the clock on the DS to another date or time.
Pwp - Public work projects (btw, you can have a maximum of 30)
Pw - Public works
FC - Friend code
DC - Dream code
ACNL - Animal Crossing New Leaf
DLC - downloadable content. Usually restricted to a specific region or time.
