I've started playing when I was around four, (so 2003). My brother introduced me, and after tons of times of me messing up his town, I got my very own ~memory card~

So, as a very young player, I used to buy tons of clothes, then display them all in my basement. Now, you couldnt even move in my basement, because it was just full of clothes. So, my brother and cousin told me that if you leave your basement that full, your house will explode and your villager will die.

So, I cried. (As my brother and cousin laughed their butts off ;_;)

Another lie they decided to tell me, was if it was raining in the game, and if I left the lights on in my house, my house would flood, and therefore, ruining all the clothes in my basement, and causing the basement to explode.

I also had an intensive fear of the bee nests in the game. Something about the sound freaked me out. I used to shake trees, hugging a stuffed animal tight, hoping it wouldnt be bees, and when it was bees, i would scream, like I was being murdered, and run upstairs and cry to my mom. Why was I so afraid of the bees?

Beedrills.

Yup, the pokemon. They freaked me out. My brother used to chase me around the house, pretending to be one, buzzing and saying Beedrill over and over.

Also, I had a huge crush on more than one of the male villagers. I dont remember his name, but he was a bird, and he was grumpy looking if I remember correctly. He had a slide in his house, which of course, I thought was the most awesome thing in the world. And lots of tv's and a train set.

(edited as of making this: His name was Admiral)

And camofrog, I think I sent him letters asking him to go on dates with my to the museum.

So anyway, I was hoping to make this thread to hear some other peoples animal crossing related stories... And hopefully I wasnt the only one who has some weird ones... haha

I have nothing to contribute, because the first time I played an AC game was briefly playing one of the older games and I was already an adult, and I only really got into it when I picked up ACNL.

But that's too cute! Pok?mon already existed when I was a kid but I wasn't as young as you were, and AC didn't. It must be neat to have childhood memories of playing the AC games, I wish they'd existed when I was 4. :)

My cousin had ACWW so I decided to get it.I started up the town, and three villagers were there. Joey, Walker, and Ruby.
I instantly loved all three.
Later Camofrog and Drift moved in. It took me a little while to get used to them, but i like them.
I liked the lovely set the most, and was horrible at things.
So i left the game for two years.
One day, i opened up the gates.
i went to my mailbox.
And one letter was inside.
From Ruby.
She moved out.
I immediately turned of the game.
I was devestated.
Now, I'm looking for her to come back.
That's my story (the parts i remember)

I don't have a lot of memories of playing ac because I got acnl (my 1st ac game) on Christmas 2013. But I guess what I'm about to say could become a memory for me when I get older (I'm 12). Usually if I have free time at night I turn off all my lights except for my lamp that shades blue and just play acnl while I have one of my favorite shows Parks and Recreation playing on my tv in the background. I don't know why but doing that has kinda become a tradition and means a lot to me.

ahh, i have tons of nostalgic animal crossing stories! ;u; i played the gamecube version with my brother when i was maybe 12 or 13 and he was 10. we had two memory cards (the special AC one that came with the game, and our regular one) and we had a main town named Rohan. he had his own town on the other card called Holiday, which he would use to TT to all of the fun holidays like Halloween and Christmas because he was too impatient to wait for them in real life.. i remember getting really mad because all of my favorite villagers who lived in Rohan moved to Holiday because he always forgot to take the memory card out of our gamecube... (we also kept all of our hoarded clothes in the basement, haha)

the moment that traumatized me was when i was playing alone late at night. everyone else was asleep, it was dark, and i loaded up my character only to find black holes where my eyes once were. turns out i had turned off the gamecube while en route to Holiday and this was my punishment:

i was terrified.

I've also been playing since ACGC, so I was about 5. I remember coming home from school every day and immediately playing for hours on end. I also remember those codes that you could put in at Nook's and how my brother and I would exploit them. The most famous one was the one for 99k bells.

Probably my best memories are of ACWW. I had a bunch of Internet friends that I would play with. At that time "hotels" were the fad on ACC, so a bunch of my friends and I set up hotels and had sleepovers in each other's towns. Everyone's wi-fi sucked though, so we kept dropping the connection lmao.

Oh god speaking of wi-fi, did anyone else have the little USB connector that Nintendo sold way back when? I'm pretty sure I still have ours in the computer drawer somewhere.

Is that the one that you used to connect to your gameboy to get to the island?

The first game I ever played out of the series was Wild World and all of my cousins and my sister owned the game too. I have fond memories of resetting my sisters game over and over so that Resetti would come and she'd have to repeat a sentence to him for hours.

No, but I also had that. Back when Nintendo first started their online stuff with the DS, everyone had crappy Internet (apparently), so they released USB drives that you would plug into your computer to get the wi-fi connection from the computer to your DS. The only problem was that those kind of sucked too so everyone had really bad wi-fi problems early on.

I found a listing for it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000MXMNG4?pc_redir=1402110232&robot_redir=1

When I was a gullible 6-year-old and played Wild World, a friend of mine lied to me that you had to kill Dr. Shrunk in order to get your stereo to work. I didn't know K.K. existed, so I believed her, but I wasn't entirely sure how/why you had to kill Dr. Shrunk.

I have so many nostalgic memories! ; u ; The first game I had was Wild World, and my sisters found it on accident during PE in elementary school. But when no one claimed it, we took it home and played it every day, moving throughout the Animal Crossing series as the years went by.
I do remember watching a YouTube video about how someone glitched their town so that everyone looked like Blathers and Punchy, and my sisters and I were terrified that it would happen to our towns. We checked them before we went to bed since then to make sure it wouldn't happen. c':
I have way too many memories to name for New Leaf though. A while back I found an old video I made of my first town, the one that I had waited 2-3 years to get before I restarted just because I was bored. :c A bit of a mistake there; it's the only New Leaf town I've ever had apples in, and since then I haven't seen a single one.
The memories though! I just feel so strange, knowing that if my sisters hadn't picked up that dirty Wild World game, that I wouldn't even be here on the forums, or playing New Leaf. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have found the interest either if they hadn't picked up Wild World. I remember watching the City Folk commercial and wondering to myself, "How is that fun?" But look at me now. ; u ;
So yes, basically, Animal Crossing is more than a game for me; it has become a lifestyle. ♥
