As we all know, downloadable content for Animal Crossing is few and far between. When I refer to these things, I am mostly thinking of furniture such as the 7-11 set and what not. However, this thread will be dedicated to the idea of DLC as a whole, including but not limited to additional furniture, clothing, villagers, public work projects, fruit, etc. Pretty much anything you can think of!

As such, I would like to discuss ideas and additions to the game that you personally think is the most useful, deserving, interesting, or anything in between. On a final note before my own suggestions, I would like to state that the DLC in question would be provided on the e-shop, rather than exclusive places.

As for myself, the implementation of new characters, clothing, etc. would not the main priority, but rather the download of additional dialogue amongst villagers. I am sure everyone else is either sad that so many villagers repeat the same line on a daily basis, or that the characters have just run out of new things to say completely. I think that the best form of downloadable content for this game would be to double each personality type's amount of lines. Not only would this add more depth to the villagers and their interactions, but it would also freshen the game for veteran players.

What would be your preferences in the request for DLC pertaining to New Leaf?

I think that's a really cool idea! With New Leaf, I kinda expected some sort of DLC or updates along those lines - adding gameplay rather than items.

If you play Sims 4, it was initially released with many missing features. But they have been updating the game giving players ghosts and pools. -If Nintendo were to update the game in the same fashion, I would love it even more. But, it feels too long of a wait to even expect updates.

Just had a great DLC idea, new villagers! They could be exclusive or for everyone. Would be cool to show off and brag to friends about them if they were exclusive.

I'd really like more dialogue for villagers.

It would also be great to have more plants for your town and some things to decorate the beach with.

More plants and beach decorations would certainly spice things up, to say the least. Maybe even some Public Work Projects for the shore would be pretty swell too. Also, as you said, TheACJason, it really would have been great if they had consistently updated or added onto what was already a great game. But unfortunately, it is easy to see now that the time has passed. Personally, I think that Nintendo could really capitalize on this idea of DLC expansion. I mean, people here sometimes have an upwards of four games. I think it is completely logical to let people make the most of them, and make more money in the process.

Just seconding (or third-ing) the addition of more plants and ways to decorate the beach. I've never understood why we can't put any PWP on the beach, especially the picnic blanket, which is small and suitable for the beach as well as a park-like area.

Yeah, I'm one of the people with several towns and I'd LOVE more content! I'm happy with more items, but dialogue and projects would be far better, imo.

And yeah, Nintendo could make more money. I'm a little surprised that they haven't released more of this sort of thing already. Well, not everything, because people want so many different things, but at least some things. I hope it happens in the future tho I am not expecting it to. We can always hope, tho!

I'd definitely purchase DLC for extra villager dialogue, more PWP's and things to decorate with. It's surprising Nintendo hasn't capitalised on this!

Extra dialogue would be so nice, as much as I love talking to my villagers already it would make the game feel more organic to and fun to play. I agree with PWP's for the beach, I currently use my beach as flower storage more than anything, but I'd love to be able to decorate it like the rest of my town... you could have all sorts of really beautiful public work projects, like shell statues, deck chairs, there's so much possibility there. The only thing is that Nintendo would probably use DLC to produce more items and sets, which is nice but wouldn't add to the experience as much as everyone's suggestions.
