Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been nominated for 2020's GOTY award

I do think this game is a good game but I’m not sure it deserves game of the year considering the amount of back lash and continual disappointments this game has.

To be honest, I feel like a large portion of its success was because of the pandemic and people needing an outlet and something to do. I think if the game just stood alone next to its predecessors it wouldn’t really match up.

Im glad it’s been nominated but I’m not sure it should win.

Wow. Of all the games in that list, that was the least I expected to be nominated. Congratulations!

I expect Ghost of Tsushima to win. With Hades close to it. FF7R is great, but lacks the charm of the classic and it's not even the full game. Last of Us II... more like worst of us. And you can't have Doom without Animal Crossing.

It deserves it, no game quite defined this quarantined year as much as New Horizons. They'll probably give it to an action title though. xD

Nice! The nomination is a reward itself but it would be really cool if they won it . I hope though they don’t let this go to their heads and work on improving communication with players and take more feedback into consideration and not being so blatant about how much they try to get extra money out of us.

Anything but Last of us two,, nothing against queers but the game as a whole was a massive disappointment to those who played the first one from what I have noticed

Well well, congrats ACNH!!

It make sense that they were nominated as many have said i think ACNH was a lot of help for many pp during COVID and quarantines times which are still going on, so that is a big applause to them from me. I would love fo them to win, in hopes, that if they doo we get like toooons of or a very very good update with new never seen gameplay or dynamics <3

Although i also think that Last of us part 2 greatly deserves this, but thats for a different forum i guess haha.

Congrats AC team at Nintendo. I think AC absolutely deserved to win this. Not only because it's an amazing game but also because of its impact during the worst (and most uncertain) moments of the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it's relevant to take into account how AC:NH helped many of us cope during these scary times (and continues to do so).

Yikes, they aren't making it easy for me this year are they? lol

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw ACNH was nominated. I love that they were recognized and I hope this fuels them to keep the content coming. NH has been my savior during quarantine!
