Yeah, that is what I was thinking too because I'm unsure how many would trade a older feather for a newer one, but since there are only 10 2018 Green Feathers in existence, it might actually make sense since they are technically rarer and they could be valuable for certain lineup configurations.
Just some things to consider I guess... lol
