When you upload a villager amiibo card and it asks if you want them to move in or if you want a present... when you select the gift option does each villager give a certain gift or is the gift always random? If it is not random is there a list some where that tells what all their gifts are? Just wondering bc it would be easier to collect furniture that way. Someone please help me lol
NPC characters always give you their pictures first (atleast that's happened every time for me) and I believe the gifts are random. It's always seemed random for me. Not 100% though!
Im a bit late now but its still never to late to explain something after 9 years.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, when you scan an Amiibo and talk to Wisp, you can ask for a present. Most players assume that the item you receive is completely random each time you ask.
However, testing shows that this is not entirely true. The game includes a rng mechnism what I call the
“Three Item Rule”.
For every scannable Amiibo character (for example Rosie or Apollo), the game appears to generate exactly three possible gift items at the start of each in-game day.
When you ask Wisp for a present from that Amiibo:
The game does not generate a brand-new random item.
Instead, it randomly selects one item out of those three pre-generated items.
The player never sees this internal list — but it exists behind the scenes.
What This Means
Resetting before asking for the gift does not change the three possible items.
Scanning the same Amiibo repeatedly on the same day will always draw from the same hidden set of three.
The only way those three items change is when a new in-game day begins.
In other words:
Each Amiibo has its own daily mini “loot pool” of three items.
The final gift is just a random pick from that pool. I found this out by playing the game on an emulator by using safestates before reciving the furniture. This means that if you are playing the game on an emulator you can practicly cheat to get any possible furniture you like from the regular catalouge. However this is only possible through Emulation since the 3ds isnt able to use Safe states
