I'm interested to know how this works, a friend of mine has been holding Buzz for me in their town (A lost amiibo villager) waiting for them to ask to move but with no luck. We are literally looking at about 7 months down the track and he ain't budging for the life of him. I've heard somewhere that lost villagers will still ask to move if you give them time but I haven't had this confirmed clearly. This is either a really unlucky situation or lost villagers just aren't programmed to move away by asking, I've never used the cards so am unsure myself how moving works with them.

So really I'd like to know your experiences, have amiibo card villagers asked to move for you? Specifically lost villagers? Or is it just the case that they can only be removed by you manually if you don't want them anymore. Your time on this would be helpful :)

There's been lots of discussion on here about amiibo villagers and their moving. After many threads, the only answer seems to be that they do move, but only after a REALLLLLLLLLY long time.

Personally, I've only had one amiibo villager ask to move, and it was an amiibo figure villager (Epona). It seems from the data that amiibo figure villagers seem to ask to move more often than amiibo card villagers, but the card villagers DO ask to move. Just extremely rarely. It took one salty guy about 8 months (?) I think to move out an unwanted card villager naturally. So take that as you will.

I'd recommend your friend moving in a different card or figure villager so you can go pick up Buzz from him.

Thanks for your help, glad to get to the bottom of this. It's been months so was wondering whether it was an impossible thing. Right now my friend has 3 figure villagers in his town so I'd have thought it would circulate quicker but I guess not.
