I simply do not care about my villagers at all. I talk to them here and there but just kinda go "Meh" and walk away. I feel guilty just seeing them because I ignore them so much xD And when people take into account what villagers they start with when resetting their town... Why? Layout matters most in my opinion, you can get decent villagers later, although it will be a pain.

So is this only me who feels this way or what? Lol..

Since the way it works now being that all the personality types are homogenized, no, you're not the only one. I don't care either.

Well basically the whole point of the game is to have fun with your villagers and to socialize. For me if I rarely talk to them,I wont be able to share funny stories with the community, and I'll probably miss out alot.

I love all of my villagers, but when you've been playing for almost a year, it gets boring fast. Basically all of my villagers repeat stuff now.

People have different aesthetic preferences, whether in this game, in architecture, or in poetry, etc. For instance, I think content matters more than form when translating a poem, but one of my professors thought form is more important than content. For this game, some people find it more pleasing to "cultivate" a particular slate of villagers, while others find it more pleasing to "cultivate" a particular look for the town.

Eh.

Just as some people think it's good to have "diversity" by having different villager types to keep towns interesting, some might say that having "diversity" in mayor types keeps towns interesting. Some love paths and intricate layouts, other don't give a crap, and there are so many mayors many places in between those extremes. Some love having the "perfect" villagers for their "food town," while others just want their "perfect" villagers, while others are just cool with whoever they find pleasant and who come into their town "naturally" (rather than through trade). Some want a set group of villagers, while others want to have every villager in existence to move in. That latter example may be one way to keep the villagers interesting.

Of course, I haven't been playing that long, so I might just be short of that point where I grow bored of villagers in particular, though I wonder where I would also grow bored of the town layout in general.

Etc., etc.

yes, she is right. i think the game is ten times more enjoyable by talking with your villagers. without it, the game would be pretty lame.

Nah you're not the only one, it just probably seems that way since a lot of ppl on here like to glorify their villagers to the highest degree. Everyone is different, some ppl love the game just to simply be in a town where they can talk to villagers who they love and that love them and talk to them and tell them funny stories. Some ppl love playing it to customize their town the way they see fit, laying down paths, growing hybrids etc. Some ppl like completing the game entirely, get the best nooks store available, get all the items in the game, collect every thing their is to collect in the museum and so forth.

Everyone plays the game differently and luckily this is a game where it's open to interpretation for the player. Play it however you most enjoy playing it and don't feel guilty just because you like and dislike different things about the game than other ppl. Have fun and don't let it bother you :)

Its awkward since I'm a guy ?-?. Back to topic,Zulehan pretty much covered everything I have to say. Some people think socializing with villagers\getting the perfect set of villagers is more important, while other people feel that town layout, design etc. Makes it more fun
For as myself,I'm a little bit of both. I want to have perfrct villagers(to me at least) and the perfect town. Although this makes me worried if I complete it all, because I'll lose interest in playing. :(
