Am I in an abusive relationship?

So... I made a friend on AC recently and we were getting on okay. However, recently it's changed.

When I visit his place he FORCES me to donate to his projects (that's his condition for opening the gate) and all of his villagers are homophobic. Many of them call me 'fagg' for no reason and now some of the villagers are starting to say 'nibba' to me...

When I invite my friend over to my town (free of charge of course) he leaves hateful comments on my noticeboard that I only discover days down the line. Stuff like 'this town is a Detroit toilet' and 'faggs are wrong'. I didn't call him out on it because he's pretty much my only friend in the game right now...

What should I do?

Don't communicate with them, "friends" don't do things like that.

Trust me, this isn't anything like an abusive relationship. This is just someone you know online who turned out not to be a very nice person. Just unfriend him and stop communicating with him. The last thing you want is to become further in contact with him, since then he might actually try to manipulate you. Though honestly, he's probably just a troll who wants to see how far he can push you. He clearly has no interest in being your friend, so just stop talking to him.

This is not ok in any way. Delete him from your AC and 3DS friend list. There will be plenty of other friends, don’t tolerate abuse because you’re worried about having an empty friend list.

First of all how long have you known this person? Sounds to me like it might be a misunderstanding or something or there?s something you aren?t telling us.

If that?s the case I suggest you fess up. If not I say you give him a chance he might just need someone to talk to....

They are not your friend. You should end it before it potentially gets worse. Unfriend them and stop all communication with them. He's a sock puppet account. He joined today (the same day you made this thread), and his only 2 posts happen to be on this thread. Just report him and move on.

Firstly, no, this isn't anything like an abusive relationship. It's just a troll that attached itself to you and you need to flush them out of your space. Secondly, like everyone else said, this person isn't your friend, it's just a troll trying to see how far they can push you. And third, if you met this person here, leave them a wifi rating telling everyone about your experience with them, then delete them from your list and stop communicating with then.

Just remove and block them, like why would you continue to visit them and allow them to verbally abuse you. Just get rid friend, you deserve better.

I would remove him from your friend list and also start a thread on the ACNL online forums on belltree and name the thread, [looking for new friends]. So you can get better friends then that guy your friends with right now.

This is so uncool that someone thinks that it is ok to do this to someone especially in a game that is made to get away from such nastiness that the world has to offer! Like many other have said, you need to delete this person, block all contact with them (if they have other means of contacting you outside of in-game), and give them negative feedback (if they are on TBT) to warn others of this ridiculousness. If they are on TBT and they start harassing you after giving them negative feedback, be sure to report them to the TBT Staff so they can get banned.

Disgusting. Never get in touch with him again, delete everything he's posted, remove him from your friends list including on the 3ds, and remove him from your mind. There are far more good people out there who would be your friend. Don't worry about not having one right now. You'll get a true friend someday.
