I ordered it on Saturday so in reasoning it should be coming tommorow. Because it said to wait 2 working days.
picked up my LCE today.
holy *censored.2.0* this case is kinda cool.
anyway, the game is alright so far. one thing that struck out to me is the poor facial animation and poor car animation during cutscenes.
*censored.2.0*ton of stuff to collect, it seems. and i thought the episode type thing they used would ruin the game, but it really seems to be working so far. just finished with episode 2.

Remedy made the Max Payne series, which was pretty much the first action game to utilize slow-motion (bullet-time) effectively.Jrrj15 said:

I was debating on getting it, I think I might considering 2 things.

the game feels VERY rushed.
like, combat and everything seem to work fine though there are still a few graphic faults that were present in older trailers (screen tearing mostly), however the level design seems to be pretty good thus far.
most cutscenes, though, are horrendous. not unbearable but the facial animation seems like it was never finished (i've had a scene with alice talking and her mouth was open for 10 seconds straight while speaking). the game HAS gone through a lot of changes that are apparent through watching all of the trailers and everything, and even fairly recent gameplay videos feature content that is no longer in the game (mostly the Rusty level they showed at E3 - but i won't give any details).
and, i mean, i'm just thinking that they had 5 years to think about everything and still were never completely satisfied and the level of polish of the game suffered for it.
regardless of this, the game is still INCREDIBLY fun, the voice acting, music, and graphics are still very impressive, the gameplay is tense and exciting, and even with the ending spoiled for me i still feel compelled to play through to answer the rest of the many questions and mysteries the game presents you with. the episode intro/outro cutscenes are also very well done, despite the rest of them leaving something to be desired.
and to be quite honest, i was disappointed when they removed the open world aspect of the game, however after playing some of it it's apparent that the levels have a LOT of places to explore and look through for collectibles and manuscript pages, and i think this makes it work a lot better instead of "scour a huge map for a tiny little thing".
i also have to compliment the game's combat system, it's pretty good. there IS some auto aim but it doesn't become irritating, it feels very natural instead of overbearing. the light/darkness mechanic works really well for creating moments of panic ("*censored.2.0*, *censored.2.0*, *censored.2.0*, my flashlight died and i'm out of batteries!"). i will say, though, that the driving mechanics are...not so good. they work, but it's very fake and almost toy-like. fortunately i don't think there's a lot of them in the game, so it's not a huge deal.
ANYWAY! done ranting, tl;dr: the game rocks and you should pick it up ASAP.

The game is so good to look at, I love busting open a flare and watching the smoke fly up.
The combat is nice and smooth. I do hate getting hit, flinching and taking another few hits... but that's not a problem. Not when I have my shotgun. >=D
Playing through on Nightmare is just that, using alot of bullets to take down most Taken is a pain, but adds more to it.
Love the game, go get it.

Hooray for bumping an eight month old topic! Anyway, I picked this game up on Sunday and it's amazing. Probably one of the greatest games I've ever played, actually. The story is thrilling, the action keeps you going, and the suspense keeps your heart racing. <div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Though the ending doesn't reveal everything, and you're not 100% sure what happened, it's still a great game!</div> I would recommend buying it, along with the DLC's for it (even though I only played the first one) Oh one more thing, it's really creepy. I actually screamed a few times when I got caught off guard T_T
