Adopting multiple villagers in one day

I recently bought a second copy of the game (!) and I ended up going on a villager adopting spree yesterday. I'm getting a bit nervous though, as one of the villagers -- my beloved Stitches -- hasn't shown up yet. The other two arrived safe and sound, but when I woke up this morning and started a new save file, Ed placed a plot but there was no sign of Stitches (I quit without saving before that could happen). Ed would have been my 9th villager, so there still would have been room for Stitches, but I'm wondering if this is cause for concern..

I think Stitches might just move in tomorrow. Sometimes it can take longer than one day.

I was once told that if you ask another villager to move in before the first animal has placed a plot, that it negates the first one you asked. I'm not positive on this, but it's what I heard.

You can't adopt multiple villagers on the same AC day. The only way to reliably do so in one real-life day is to adopt a villager, time-travel forwards a few days until that villager moves in, adopt another, time travel for that one, and repeat until finished. Generally, the last villager that you adopted moves in while the others don't make it.

I've heard of some rare instances where all the villagers moved in safe and sound, but I've seen more often than not that not everyone moves in.

Aughh, that is utterly heartbreaking if that's the case...

its true, if you adopt on the same the other villager doesnt show up. you need to wait until the next plot shows up. I know this bc it happened to my friend, she adopted ribbot right after naomi and she was a no show.
