Adopting a villager

My friend has one of my dreamies and he's asked to move. Do I adopt him the same way as in New Leaf? Wait till hes in boxes and beg him to move?

Yeah, you gotta wait 'til they're in boxes to move. Be careful though. If the villager is asking to move twice, it's probably glitched.

Also, do you guys know if I stopped playing today at 5PM and time travelled tomorrow to today at 6PM, is that counted as time travelling backwards?

According to several sources, asking twice (like asking Nook Residences again even after asking, as if you didn't ask earlier) will trigger a glitch like "I've moved out".
