hihi,

yesterday i went to the island for the first time. i did a many of the island tours and i would gather lots of fruits each time. but i didn't put the fruits into the item box. i kept the fruit on me so that it would sell. according to the islander they sell the items on you (for less), and they give the money directly back to you, right?

isn't that how it works? well i didn't get any money back yet... my ABM balance is same, my mailbox has no money, and the money on me is same.

can anyone confirm? >_<

thanks!

I'm pretty sure lila or whatever her name is, tells you that
"we don't pay very well." and it's true, they only pay about 5% of what the item sells for at retail.

And yes, you do get the money back into your inventory, not to your abd :3

i swear i don't see any money in my inventory tho... >_<

fruit doesn't get you many bells anyways, so i'm guessing it went to your abd or your inventory...

Next time remember to put all your items into your box before leaving the island x3

no no, you misunderstand, i didn't forget... i left it on me to sell on purpose. the item box i filled up with much more valuable items like beetles and sharks.. so instead of throwing away the "junk" or less valuable items i thought it would be better to get something for them (better than nothing at all), so i kept them on me for the purpose of selling.

but i didn't get any money back anywhere. not even in my character's body inventory, house inventory, or ABM account... >_<

You have to actively sell them to Lila (the toddler turtle), as you would if selling to Reese/Timmy/Tommy. They do not passively get removed and exchanged for bells. Once you undergo that process, and agree to her price (same as other merchants), then the bells will be transferred to your inventory - par usuale. I hope this helps.

okay thanks for that.

they don't do a good job in telling you this. from their dialog my impression was a passive transaction... that they would take my stuff and sell it (albeit less than market prices) and give me the money in return...

so i guess i lost about 2hrs of island touring worth of "junk" (fruits, fishes, insects -- lots of beetles i junked were worth 6000) -_-

*nods* Yeah, I can see how you could conclude that. They key is to red every-friggin-word... lol And np. =}

No, you were right, there was a passive transaction. I just tested it now myself. I checked the ABD on the island, my savings account was at 11, 660, 340 bells. I sold one coconut to Leila (little kappa girl) and got 2 bells put in my wallet (the amount you see when you check your pockets inventory). I had one coconut on me (in my pockets inventory) when I left the island. I went to the post office ABD and found 11, 660, 342 bells. So yes you DO get it automatically (pittance as it is), just Iin your savings account.

thanks for the info! let me test again!

If they're in your pockets when you leave the island, the meagre amount of money will be put in your ABD the next day... :3

okay i have confirmed that yes, it is a passive transaction as well, and the money goes directly to your ABM savings account.

i caught a miyama stag beetle that is normally worth 1000. then i went on a tour with the beetle on hand. then they took the beetle from my inventory when i started tour. when i came back from tour i checked the ABM and my account increased by 50 (the island buys everything from you for only 5% of the regular prices!)

sorry for the confusion, and thanks all for confirming!
