ACNH 3.0 Update Out !!!!

The Ocarina of Time cannot be held and played like the craftable Ocarina. It shares the same icon in inventory, but it's just a furniture item. That's sad.

Hotel villagers don't react to being pushed or hit with nets.

Visiting players cannot enter the hotel rooms.

It can! I've just received it in the mail today, and it works the exact same way as the craftable one.

Im still very early on in my island so I've yet to experience the hotel and stuff, but the qol stuff is great.
My pockets have never felt more spacious.

I love all the new items and the qol stuff but I feel like an outlier as I don't really care for the hotel itself. The quests walking around annoyed me because I could barely do construction work without someone standing or sitting in my way, and the hotel itself is just hhp lite. But I see why people do like it! It was fun to decorate but for my new island I think I'm just going to skip getting it all together (as long as you don't upgrade Blather's tent, the hotel doesn't show up). At least until I'm all done with construction.. lol

I am confused how do I get more hotel visitors? I keep seeing new islanders walking around my island and I go talk to them but there is no option to tell them about the hotel??

Wasn't there a nookmile achievement in asking islanders to stay on your island?

You need to keep making hotel rooms but you can only make 2 of them a day.

I loveeee this update!! Im an completionist and this will make it so much more easy and fun. Also love the hotel vibes, fits my island perfectly!
And its nice to have an actual reason to source and craft items again 😅

Possible spoilers for the beginning of the game (as of the 3.0 update):

* When you’re crafting the furniture you need for the three houses, you can now view the DIY recipes for furniture in one place—the requests tab. This made this point of the game a lot easier. I always thought this point was a pain but this time around, it was a lot easier due to this fix.

* Also, during the three-house quest, a villager (Pashmina) pinged me and gave me a free Nook Miles Ticket to help me with gathering the materials. This has never happened to me before the 3.0 Update.

Yeah, I’m actually glad I decided to restart when the update and upgrade pack were both released. I wanted to play the game from the beginning and see if anything was different. ^^

Is it once I finished making all the rooms then I can ask the islanders walking around to stay?
Well, this is where it gets tricky. You won't be able to invite them to live on your island, but if you see one of them with a thought bubble, that usually means that they are lost and don't know where the Hotel is, so you have to invite them to the Hotel and make a room for them to stay. Remember, they can only stay one day, and by tomorrow, they are gone, replaced by another visitor.

I hate to burst your bubble, but apparently, the Hotel Clock and Hotel Towel Rack cannot be customized. I tried it, and it didn't work. Not even Cyrus can customize it.
According to (warning: item spoilers in link ahead!) this post the clock and towel rack don't have have custom options available. I was speaking on items that are in the hotel catalog and also can be customized while decorating the hotel if you press the x button, and neither the clock or towel rack can do that.

Edit: Items like the flower planter, for example, which can be customized in the hotel can also be customized through Cyrus.

So I have something to say regarding the VIP Homes and this maybe spoilers but here is what I found out:

After you finish making all 8 hotel rooms, you'll be able to invite Tourists to the VIP Room. However, there is a caveat. You can only invite tourists who are already in the Hotel's rooms, and this is the only time you can use the Amiibo scanner. You cannot use it to invite villagers to the Hotel Rooms; you can do so only once a day.

The Good news, however, is that if you have multiple users on your island, you can allow them to create a VIP Room for each villager. In my case, User A was able to make one for Label, User B was able to make one for Celeste, and finally User C was able to make one for CJ. That is what I tested out so far. I don't know how many VIP rooms you can make; I assume the limit is 8, just like the standard rooms at the Hotel.

Someone mentioned you can do two rooms a day, this doesn't seem to be the case for me. I did the first room yesterday, and you can do the second right away, but since it was late I waited until today - now, after finishing it, Leilani says I have to wait until tomorrow to decorate another room. There also doesn't seem to be an option to redecorate (at least not yet), so simply doing the bare minimum and then returning once you have time (so you can unlock more rooms and therefore more tourists ASAP) isn't an option, at least not at first.

ETA: First thing I did this morning was design the hotel outfits, and Caroline is already wearing one - so cute! Although the outfit she chose doesn't match her super well, lol.
Same thing happened with decorating. Completed one room the first day and the next day I was only able to do one room.

Okay, so there is something new you can do with Kapp'n. If you go on a Tour for the first time, which we all know costs 1000 Nook Miles, and if you talk to him again, he can let you on another tour the 2nd time, and this time he'll charge you 100 Hotel Tickets. This is useful if you want to gather materials faster.

Go ahead and sleep. If you manage to fall asleep, tomorrow will be there in no time.

I am assuming it's all uniform size, with it being a facility, and considering it's being placed in the ocean.
Looks like the size of the pier is different depending on if you had large or small.
Looks like small is now 17 planks and large is 19 planks
(Or maybe its to do with the shape of your beach. Not sure but definitely comes in different lengths still)

That's what I mentioned earlier. And worst depending on what season it is you might be requested to do diy that requires acorns, pinecones, or ornaments and those are so horrible trying to get, let alone for a random request.

I'm stuck with one that requires me to get 4 cardboard boxes and I'm not doing that. I'd have to waste my 5 day item limit just to do 1 request. I did a few ice series furniture but again I would've rather saved my snowflakes for myself. I think they'll probably reset after a week.
From what I got. It resets every Monday for me

Okay, there is something about the VIP Rooms I need to warn everyone about, because it confused me the first time. I'll do my best to explain it. If you had 8 users on your island, you could technically design like 8 VIP Rooms for the Hotel. However, here is the big caveat: once you design all those rooms for one day, they don't remain permanent like the Standard room; they like to restart, so you invite different villagers. I suppose I can understand designing different rooms for various styles of villagers, but why would it restart the rooms? That doesn't happen with the Standard Rooms since they stay the same, but the villagers rotate day by day. However, with VIP rooms, they fully restart, so the rooms are empty, and the villagers you invited are gone by the next day. You'll have to ask them again or try to invite someone else. I guess this is meant to encourage you to keep playing to earn more hotel tickets, but to be honest, you're better off doing the DIY crafting for Kapp'n since you can earn more that way.
