accidentally TTed a year backwards

[SUB]hi there belltree! i wanted to see if you can help me fix this problem without having a villager move out.

while cycling, i must have hit something because i accidentally TTed a year backwards (2015) without knowing. the game has already been saved and there's no reversing it.

i wanted to ask if there's a method where i can safely put the time back in its original state without a bunch of villagers moving out. all of my slots are full; i have 8 dreamies and 2 villagers that i'm holding for my friend.

should i cycle the 2 villagers out and TT forward to 2016 while i'm still in the entering period, or will that not work? please, please help. i spent a stupid amount of time and effort getting all of my dreamies and it would suck to lose one of them. [/SUB]

if you TT day by day until you find a ping and then refuse that mover, you're safe to travel any amount of time without losing anyone. I'm not sure if this is completely guaranteed, but I did essentially the same thing months ago when I accidentally TT'd backwards several months. good luck! c:​

[sub]i'll try this, but forgive me if i ask if you clear up one thing first: do you mean if i refuse a mover, THEN i'll be able to set the time back, or do you mean that i'll need to repeat this process until i eventually end up in the next year? i certainly hope it isn't the latter, because that'll be extremely tedious (i'd still do it anyway though).[/sub]

I had an issue like this when I got my New 3DS. It for some reason recognized a year had passed even though it had not. I refused Erik on my old 3DS then when i put it into my new one and "travelled" 1 year, no one moved

nope! as soon as you refuse the mover you can save & quit and TT a year ahead to the right date. you'll have a bunch of weeds & get the "wow you've been gone awhile" speech, but no one should move. just keep an eye out for pings once you're back on the right day, as I know I got one right away.​

nope! as soon as you refuse the mover you can save & quit and TT a year ahead to the right date. you'll have a bunch of weeds & get the "wow you've been gone awhile" speech, but no one should move. just keep an eye out for pings once you're back on the right day, as I know I got one right away.​

This works. I did it just yesterday when I had a hiatus for a month and did just that. Worked!

Did you speak to all of you villager when you jumped ahead? I jumped ahead, got a rumor mover and stopped the move. I forgot to speak to all the villagers and the next day I got a rumor that Skye was trying to skip town. Skye was one of three that I didn't speak to.
