AC-related stuff to do other than be sad that you can't play your town for a month

DS broke recently, just after really getting back into ACNL. Just completed my bug list and will now miss the final bug-off of the season so can't get my net till June (?) (non-TT town). My birthday is coming up next month so will be getting the New 3DS then which I'm extremely excited about (I'm turning 25 and for the first time in years I'm experiencing that frustrating exciting 'child-on-chiristmas-eve' feeling haha) but omg this is really getting on my nerves. I don't have much of a social life nowadays and by the time I finish work I'm okay with that, just want to chill out. But after getting so back into ACNL recently I need my fix! I have a lovely mapped out digital version of my town and plans but it's hard to rework them without actually being able to look at the town. So far I've just been pining away for a bit in the 'what have you accomplished in your town today' thread but if anyone has anything less depressing and more productive that I could do towards bettering my town when I'm back without actually being able to play, I'd appreciate it!

Plan out landscaping stuff. PWP goals, paths, what bushes you want where. Come up with house layouts and the like too

Thank you! Will likely be doing just that for now - will maybe make some zoomed-in areas on my mapped out town of things like flower arrangements and stuff, will take the opportunity! Also I totally caved and bought a cheap secondhand 2DS online to play AC with and hopefully not miss the bug off (should be here by friday)! Using the logic that I was originally hoping that when I get the New 3DS it'd be awesome to be able to connect my two towns so this is obviously a justified purchase - now I'll have that option again thanks to my cheeky purchase that I totally couldn't afford

You could make a list of items you want your mayor to have and steadily earn the TBT to be able to buy the whole list.

I’m actually trying to earn TBT right now, I’ve just been commenting on forums like this that I find lol. So yeah, find some question posts and just answer a bunch of them

You can get the golden net before June. Find a player with a town set in summer and having a bug off.
Talk to Nate and he'll give you the golden net. I did this with a town set in Winter. Hopped on a train and got the golden net.

It doesn't work with the golden fishing rod. Think they did golden net only because the bugs are harder to complete.

to earn tbt you can post a lot on the forums and don't forget about the other forums other than the new leaf ones there are the art ones and the fun forum ones and stuff

You could also watch videos of dream visits or Let's Plays online and browse sites for inspiration.
