AC:NL wifi connection

Hi! I have had trouble using the internet with the game Mario Kart 7, meaning i can not play online with users from around the world.
The strange thing is, when I visit relatives and try to play online, it works fine! They use a different broadband provider to the one I have at home, so this could be the cause.
I was wondering if this could affect AC:NL's wifi network. My copy of AC:CF works fine using WIFI, but im concerned about AC:NL.
Sorry if this has been posted in the wrong area, but i couldn't figure out where best to put it.

I'm no expert but I think there might be something wrong with your 3DS connecting to your wifi...if that makes sense. I would try looking at your Wii's internet connections and try copying it to your 3DS and see if that works.
