So let's say you take a VERY long break from Animal Crossing. So your back, but you got a problem: You don't know if anyone has moved. You don't to lose Chrissy or Rosie or anyone, right?

But there is a reseting trick that can recover any moved villagers. You might need to time travel and reset, so if you don't want to reset or time travel, you really don't want to do this.

Steps:

1. Load up Animal Crossing.

2. DO NOT START AS YOUR MAYOR. Made a NEW save flie.

3. Finish the talk with Rover(it don't matter what you name the person, it could be anything).

4. Make sure the villagers you want to keep are there still(also go to their house and see if they are in boxes and check for new house plots )

5. If the villager is there and not in boxes, skip to step 9. Otherwise, if they are gone or in boxes, do not skip to step 9.

6. Close Animal Crossing, go to System Settings and time travel back to the date you last played Animal Crossing.

7. Reopen Animal Crossing, then make the new save file, talk to Rover, and see if that villager is still gone or is in boxes.

8. If that villager is still gone, repeat steps 2-6 untill that villager is there again and not in boxes.

9. If that villager is there and is not in boxes, go to the town hall.

10. Make your house, and get your TPC.

11. Save and quit, you can now load up your mayor.

12. Destroy the other house.

13. Load your mayor and see if the villager pings you about moving. You can also talk to other villagers and see if there is a rumor about that villager moving.

Well, that's it! I did not see a how-to guide thread of this on TBT so I made one. Hope this helps lots of Animal Crossing players! Feel free to ask questions below! :p

Oh. I thought guides for this existed on here. I've known of this for ages.
But if a guide for this is lacking here, good to post it then.

But you may want to change the thread title. It's -very- misleading...

Yeah, I'd change the title to include "after not playing for a while" because otherwise it makes it sound like a way to recover lost villagers after noticing they are already gone.
Otherwise, nice guide!

Yeah, I guessed it would be a little misleading. I'll try to change it soon.
