AC:NL almost gave me a heart attack today. In the best way possible.

The most incredible thing happened today, and I couldn't be more happy about it to be honest. Two days ago, my HHA score was somewhere in the early 60,000 range. Two of my rooms had full Sanrio sets and everything, but my main room and exterior had a zen theme so those sets didn't fit. After I removed my sets, my score went down to about 51,000, as of yesterday. This was disappointing, of course, but it was to be expected when I removed so much furniture. I managed to get my hand on the exotic series, and neatly decorated my back room with it. My upstairs bedroom got an old-school Japanese look, with the Shoji screen and Planked tatami, a couple bonsai plants, the retro TV with a cushion, and a modern wood bed, as well as a couple other items. I was relatively happy with these new rooms, but they weren't done, so I wasn't exactly proud of them yet. I was really happy to see my zen theme coming together though! I really didn't expect that much of a rebound in my HHA score; I figured best-case scenario was the score going back to around 60,000, like it was before. However, that didn't happen. I woke up this morning and found letters in my mailbox, but not just from my mom for Mother's Day. There was also a very unexpected letter from the HHA: my score had exceeded 100,000 points. I stood in shock, just staring at my 3DS for a little while when I saw that letter.

Whew! I apologize to anyone who had to read that terribly long paragraph, I just love to ramble. Has anyone else had an experience like this where your score goes up a ton in just one day? If so, what did you do to get the score so quickly, and how much did your score increase? I'd love to hear your stories!

That kinda happened to me once too!

I was time traveling to get more clovers for my town and when I went to check my mailbox there was a letter from Happy Home saying that my HHA score was over 80,000! That was waaay higher than I had ever reached before, I got the golden plaque and everything. Funny thing is that, after the fact and after I was done TTing, I went back and my score was back at it's normal 40,000-50,000. I probably moved something but I don't remember!
To this day I just can't get it back to 80,000 haha

i remember i skyrocketed because i was in a decorating frenzy
its so easy to get the high score if youve got a maxed house and sets (so easy to get in retail, thank the lord)
what i did was just put out the trendy sets - sweets, gracie set, gorgeous, modern and sleek in each room and just junked all the tables with appliances and pictures of current villagers
worked like a charm but i was still surprised it jumped so much!! i didnt claim any of the golden prizes tho, the mailbox and exterior are ugly imo.. i feel like im advertising with my house lmao

my house is pretty empty, and i don't have the t&t mart which gives you access to the catalog (if you decided to keep your catalog after you reset/your own catalog)

In my original town (now deleted), I was hovering somewhere just below 150,000 for weeks and couldn't raise it for the life of me. I added a picture of Ruby and a Napoleon fish and that gave me the final HHA interior award. (Napoleon fish looks awesome with the Gracie series btw lol)

I would say something similar happened to me when I was trying to get the golden exterior, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it the next day and would have to try again or get different items. But the next day I think I got 1,300,000 points.

It took me forever to get decent scores with the HHA. I really don't like doing rooms of all one series because I like a more eclectic look so having a room with a lot of the same series in it looks really tacky and cluttered. The only series I like to fill a room with was rococo, gorgeous, and princess. Eventually I just got tired of trying so I filled my rooms with whatever furniture sets I had and got the scores and prizes from it and then spent days redecorating it to my liking. I didn't even try with the theme challenge and got the golden roof, but I don't think I'll be going for any other golden exteriors because I just dont think they look good.

Oh, wow! I've never seen mine get anywhere close to that number. Well, that's partially because I probably don't put as much effort into interior decorating as I want to... That's a really impressive feat.

I've never witnessed a score that high. My house is a mess, and I mean MESS, lmao! I plop down whatever looks cool. I've been more focused on public works projects and getting relationships up.
