I was at my computer and had my 3DS open and running ACNL doing the PWP wetsuit trick,
and my cat Schr?dinger, while playing with the little Animal Crossing charms on my 3DS (he loves them),
dropped my 3DS on the floor.
I almost had a heart attack when I went over and saw that my game had frozen and the cartridge was half out of it's socket.
I feared game corruption... It seems to be ok though apart from the fact that my gameplay didn't save...
Is there a chance that I might find out my game was corrupted later on?

Also, share your scariest experiences with 3DS/game accidents.

My drop my DS all the time and the game pops out a lot. Never got corrupted.

One time in my first town, I spent literal hours making a bunch of progress with shopping, villagers, etc. when I put my 3ds into sleep mode for like 3 minutes. I opened it up again and the screen was all black, and I was forced to turn off the system. I thought the town had been corrupted...

Strangely, I was rather calm when my first town did eventually get corrupted. I guess I was more sad than panicked, because I knew that it was my fault, not the system's.

I was away from home when I was playing New Leaf and when I went to save and finish the game it got stuck on the loading screen. My initial reaction was worrisome because I wasn't home and couldn't charge it and it lasted for longer than 5m. I eventually fixed the problem by turning my wifi switch off.

I've only dropped my 3DS on my bed. But I always get worried when I put it on sleep mode for a while because it might run out of battery.

If it didn't corrupt, you should be fine. But, at the moment it was lying on the floor, it was both corrupted and not corrupted until the moment you found out it was not corrupted.

Well, if you're going to name your cat that...

It's pretty scary when your 3DS falls from a high spot. Mine dropped three times. The third time the cartridge was slightly out, but the game was still running.

no, it probably wouldn't and didn't. if you had been saving at that time, tho, then it would prob corrupt

Wow that is scary :o (you have animal crossing charms though :), I have a few, they are so cute).

Scariest experience for me was when I put my 3DS with the game running on the shelf plugged in to charge a bit and someone knocked it onto the floor. I thought it would corrupt for sure but everything was thankfully ok.

I dropped my 3DS on the floor once. It was a one meter fall, but it didn't even gret a scratch. I hate it when you drop expensive fragile stuff like that, I always get an almost heart attack.

The exact same thing happened to me! I was just getting a drink, so it was probably something like 3 minutes, too.. It was so weird. I didn't lose as much as you, though..

Since then I never put my 3DS in sleep mode anymore.

I dropped my 3DS twice the other day. I was playing my second town, and thankfully I wasn't saving at the time so I wasn't too worried about corruption, but I was worried I had damaged something that would lead to corruption later on. I haven't had any issues so far though, and even if I did it's on my second 3DS so at least my main town is safe.

My scariest experience was when I was running for the bus and my 3DS fell out of my jacket pocket and smashed into the road. Luckily a kind driver stopped and let me pick it up. I was fearful it be smashed to pieces and if I retrieved it it would be broken. However, it hardly got a scratch on it except a tiny dent in the corner and the game popped half way out. My game pops out a lot in my backpack though and I never get corrupt data.

The few people I know that did corrupt their data, did so trying to take out the SD card without shutting of the game and system. :c I rarely see people if any that lose data from a popped cartridge, but I see tons from improper SD card removal.

Don't think you're going to corrupt, it's kind of a russian roulette thing.

I'm horribly careful with electronics, but I'm paranoid I'll accidentally shut the game off mid save. That button.

Luckily I have basically the exact same things on my second cartridge so am not to worried either way.

I've got the digital download but I still try to be extra careful with my 3ds even though the buttons always get greasy with all the junk food I eat :c

Scariest moments for me were, once I was saving and I put the 3ds down. I guess I put it down a little too hard because when I eventually looked down at it the cartridge had popped out. I freaked out a checked right away but it was fine.
Anothet time I was saving and out of habit sometimes I keep pressing A to speed dialogue (even though it does nothing while saving) and I wasn't really looking and somehow pressed power.
This time I was sure my town must be corrupted and literaly did not breathe while it loaded up. Miraculously it was fine.
Now I am super extra careful during saving time.
