A silly question

I haven't unlocked all of the stuff in HHD yet, but I was looking online at guides and a burning question sits on the top of my head:

How do you make a big home with basements and 2nd floors?

I already unlocked the "Floor Plan" option from the handbook.

I'm pretty sure you can re-visit the villager and say "Deluxe remodel", but I'm not exactly sure about that.

No, you choose "New House". The remodel option just lets you change teh furniture, not the layout or plot.

I've been wondering this too I always see people in the hhn with different room layouts and more another room and such and I can't seem to figure out how to do that :/

If you pick a one room layout you can remodel to add another room. Same goes for two room layouts can be made to three rooms. After you finish a house you l visit the villager on another day and ask to remake their home. Then you can pic the new layout
