A question about the PWP trick.

I've done the whole wait 5 minutes then walk around to see who pings and every time I do it they just ask really stupid irrelevant things that have nothing to do with PWPs. I've already done this like 4 times and its annoying considering I have to wait 5 minutes every time they don't ask for a pwp again.

So how long has it taken you to get a villager to request a PWP by doing this trick?
I wanna estimate more or less how long I'll be doing this till I get a PWP request...

P.S. yes, my pockets are full of flowers and i don't have any money on my person.

It's completely random. I've gotten PWPs doing it in 5 minutes and other times none at all.

Saving and quitting works too. Anyway it's random, the "trick" is really just to make them ping you, it doesn't guarantee you'll get a PWP request.

Yeah, I know it's so they ping and they can ping for any number of reasons randomly I just wanted to see how long it's taken others to get a ping for a PWP.Anyways I'm on attempt number 7, but how does this whole saving and quitting thing work I don't get it.

Save and quit then open the game again, it "refreshes" their dialogue the same way the dive trick does. Some people prefer this since it's faster though I personally find it annoying to quit and reload the game so much lol. At least while diving I can do something else for five minutes.

I've heard that it helps to make your inventory full of nothing but tools and flowers, so they won't ping you about buying items from them/buying an item from you. Then it'll be a bit more likely for them to ping you about PWPs

OP mentioned that. They can still ask about a lot of things, like greetings, catchphrases, meetings and some personality-specific things. The only thing you eliminate is them buying/selling from you.

I've done the trick a few times myself and I'm not a huge fan of it either. I think I should use it to grind some pings out of Ken though, get all the stuff he has to offer.

I think it also depends how many PWP's you actually have left to request.

I used to use the trick all the time and I would get a whole bunch out of it, but recently I've spent an hour+ trying to do it with no luck. I assume it's because I just have *that many* less for them to request. Especially since most of my remaining ones are Uchi requested, and I haven't had an Uchi villager in months

I prefer diving as well, I just go do something... watch tv, make some food, whatever. I hate restarting my game, I find it to be a huge pain in the butt.

Instead they will say you're tired and need to rest or something so they don't wanna bother you with requests, therefore there is a lack of pings. I've found that villagers will say I'm tired after only 30 minutes in some cases! Saving and restarting will make it seems like you took a break.

I would empty out your bells and fill up on tools (not a wetsuit because they can still ask to buy it) and flowers and save and quit until you get a PWP request. TT one day and start again since you only get one per day.

Gosh, I wish nintendo had thought out this PWP thing much better...I hate this randomization of getting PWPs. I mean it would have been cool if it was at least like the pwps you get from leaf on weeding day when all you have to do is make sure you have no weeds, you know like have a quest or objective to complete in order to get the PWPs...Especially since I just started my town a few days ago and I want to get the PWPs to build the perfect dream town...but at this rate it's going to take literally forever, ugh...

I never thought of that, but it is a really good point. I get yelled at for playing for too long ALL THE TIME.

You know what villagers, I DON'T NEED A BREAK AFTER 4 HOURS, I'm good to go! But now that I really think about it, save & quit (restarting) might be your best bet. My villagers literally yell at me ALL THE TIME to take a break.

I agree. I wish we could pay for PWPs to be added like 5k-20k. We can send Isabelle on research trips and she can bring back a PWP or something.

My villagers always yell at me too! I did the diving trick like 5 times in a row and I was so fed up with them not pinging me. Then I read other posts where they'll only ping you in the first hour so it makes sense to restart the game or else you just wasted time where you could have been getting a ping.
