oof thanks for making this! i’ve been trynna breed golden roses for a few weeks now and it’s more difficult than i thought it’d be lmaoo
Some tips for Gold Roses:
-They can come from singular black roses - not just pairs. So watering the singles with no roses around them gives you more chances that they could spawn.
-You only need to water each black rose with the gold can once to activate the chance of the gold rose. After that, using a normal can on the days afterwards is fine, if you desire to preserve your gold can.
That said, I only started my attempt to get the Gold Roses just now, and I know it will take a while.
are roses your native flower? you could get them in one step from mystery island oranges before those got removedare blue roses really that hard in NH? i got one by accident this time around. in NL it took me ages.
OHHHHh it was definitely the mystery island oranges, i had a bunch of those early in the game. that explains it! i was baffled when a blue popped up one morning but didn’t question it lol.are roses your native flower? you could get them in one step from mystery island oranges before those got removed
unless there's an easy purple tulip method I don't know of, I thought that purple tulips and black cosmos were relatively similar in genotype? (ie. same ease of breeding)

xedit: though no, you can get blue roses with
white x white = purple
purple x seedbag red = pink (has to be this specific combo)
pink x seedbag yellow = hybrid red
hybrid red x hybrid red = blue
there's like 10 different ways to get to blue roses, I prefer that method since there's little/no ambiguity to what is what assuming you keep your pairs well separated. (my brain is bad at remembering which one is the seed white and which one is the hybrid, in your second step for example)That method guarantees hybrid reds, but those only have a 1/64 chance - which is too low. I'm doing this method instead:
Seed Red + Seed Yellow = Orange
Orange + Seed Yellow = More Oranges: Some might increase the odds later.
Seed White + Seed Yellow = Hybrid White
Hybrid White Pairs = Hybrid Purple: 2/3rds of them are good, but use them all anyways.
Orange + Hybrid Purple = Hybrid Oranges
Hybrid Orange Pairs = Blue Roses (1/16 chance), or Red Roses that have a 1 in 4 chance of giving blues.

in the end its all about playing genetics, so once you get one, the rest are relatively easy
