It was like real horrorshow, oh my brothers and only friends, as I viddied the old film "A Clockwork Orange" for the first time a few months ago... I slooshied the gorgeous gorgeousity that was the classical music soundtrack, composed by none other than Ludvig Van, and I knew such pretty pictures...

Haha, sorry to all those who haven't seen the movie, you won't understand the above paragraph at all. :P Anyway, how many of you guys have read the book/seen the movie? As I said, I saw it for the first time a few months ago (after reading the book), and immediately bought it on DVD, after which I watched it 2 more times...

As gruesome as the film is, the moral messages really appeal to me -- "it's better to be evil by choice than good by force", and "political parties only care about themselves, not the people"...

Mr. Deep over here. Sounds very interesting. I think it's on our reading list, idk.
Yeah, I highly recommend it. Though it's a little tough to read... it's written in a mix of English and "Nadsat", which is basically Russified English... so actually, it wasn't hard for me to read at all, seeing as I speak Russian. :P

Yeah, the movie is a little different from the book... in fact, I wasn't really a huge fan immediately after seeing it for the first time, but now it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

Kubrick is my inspiration. I've seen it maybe, ten or twelve times.

Viddie well, brother. Viddie well.
Oh yeah, I actually bought the latest Kubrick box-set yesterday... it has Clockwork Orange, 2001, The Shining, Fullmetal Jacket, and Eyes Wide Shut... I've seen the first three, but not the others. I also plan on picking up his other stuff, like Dr. Strangelove and Barry Lyndon...

Barry Lyndon and Eyes Wide Shut (also known as porn) are rubbish. 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, and Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb are his best works.

Yeah, I heard Eyes Wide Shut was pretty mediocre... I liked what I saw of Barry Lyndon, though (the first 30 minutes). It's interesting how every Kubrick film is in a completely different genre than his previous one...

I'm not a big fan of Barry Lyndon... Eck.

And yeah, I hated Eyes Wide Shut.

That's the brilliance of Stanley Kubrick- he has no genre limit.

There's a horror game called Clocktower. Scissorman *shivers*

Actually, even though the inappropriate parts of the movie may be offensive, the message the movie attempts to bring across resonates with religious folks. In fact, at least half of the movie features a priest who teaches Alex the ways of Christianity, and in the end instructs him that personal choice is extremely important in choosing to do good, or instead as Alex had done, evil. It's a message that was missed by many religious conservatives who boycotted the film, I think.

Granted, the way Kubrick chose to end the film didn't help bring the moral message across (I think it would have been better to include the last chapter, where Alex realizes that he has tired of a life of crime)...

Okay so I rented the movie yesterday but I've not had the chance to watch it yet. I kinda wanted to skim through the book again real quick before hand. The last chapter isn't in the movie??

Hollister, try reading the book first if you haven't then try watching the movie
